Leukemia - Round 2
2009-11-12, 6:58 AM #1
So, if anyone remembers, my friend had Leukemia last year. He fought it, the usual track of chemo, and he won. All was well. Yesterday, he learns it's back, and is going back in for another round today.

Fail.

They found it early again, because he has a preexisting condition that requires monthly bloodwork, so we're hoping this time will go well too. Just... damn. How many times can someone deal with it?

Anyway, vibes for the dude.

That's terrible.
I'm so grateful that I have a clean medical history.

He should look into medical marijuana for controlling the nausea from chemo, it should help, a lot.

I've heard that people who smoke before chemo have little to none of the horrible nauseating effects... If he's doing that it shouldn't be so rough. Hope he gets through it.

Indeed. Doctors have said that it is absolutely STRIKING how effective Medical Marijuana is when dealing with chemotherapy. No medical benefit, amirite?

Vibes for the dude for sure

Good luck to him :( that really sucks. Relapse is pretty much the biggest fear of any cancer patient, especially after the joy and relief that is remission. He's in my thoughts.

vibes. my friend Eddie has gone through chemo twice. it took a toll on him.

i watched the documentary Dear Jack the other day. its about Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin and his struggle with leukemia right before their first cd debuted. its really sad and really inspiring.

My mom had brain surgery today and is going under again sometime soon to remove the rest of the problem so I know what you are going through. Let's have your friend and my mother kick *** together!
