Fallout 3 mods

I finally got Fallout 3 for pc and I'm wondering what are some good mods to download?

Also, what's some cool stuff you can do that is never really explained? I read somewhere it's possible to sneak up on people and put a live grenade in their pocket or something? Stuff like that.

Yea just pickpocket them and click a grenade in your inventory and it will go into theirs.

Also, a little secret: the second you leave vault 101, head to megaton, but don't do ANY QUESTS. instead, rob everyone in megaton til you are evil and have over 1000 caps then hire jericho.

he will make the game wayyyy easier for you

If you do decide to reverse-pickpocket a grenade like that, make sure to move away fairly quickly.

Fallout Nexus is a good site for your modding needs. I'd recommended Fellout, which is a lighting mod. Makes the game a bit prettier in my opinion. I'd also suggest getting a mod that fixes the auto-aim to be less irritating. To be honest, I didn't use a lot of mods. Just a few different armours and clothes. Oh, and a replacement for the 10mm pistol which made it look and sound less weedy.

This is a very handy map which will help out if you ever get stuck looking for a place.

Play it unmodded first.
Seriously, that's what got GOTY.
Afterwards, if you feel you want more then go for it.

I played through it like 4 times on Xbox 360, but I don't have my copy anymore. So I got it for PC because I wanted to mod it.

I'd disagree with Tibby's statement anyway. Before I even played the game the first time I installed darnified UI, that's a must have. It doesn't change the game technically, it just makes the menu's displayed prettier and more efficient.

Apart from that, theres heaps at fallout nexus as LividDK says. Theres a lot of good ones.

I highly recommend FOOK 2, it gives you (and the enemies) a whole bunch of new equipment, and it randomizes their loot so it's rare to see two guys wearing the exact same thing'
Also highly recommended is Mart's Mutagen Mod, it randomizes the enemies stats a bit and changes their ai. So if you found 2 wild dogs or whatever, then one might be a bit bigger, braver, and dark brown, while the other is more likely to run, smaller and grey.

A personal fave of mine is the sprint mod, it just gives you a sprint key that uses VATS. I also use a slowmo mod.... come to think of it, I never use VATS for VATS anymore.

Theres heaps more, but that's an excellent start =]

Oh, I also recommend looking up how to tweak your game (done via editting the ini) so you can get the best bang for your buck.

Something I ran into on Xbox that I didn't like was that the game doesn't go on forever after you beat the MQ. Is there a mod or fix of some kind to change that on pc?

Oh yeah, I forgot about Fellout. That's an essential too, makes the game look a lot better without you even noticing (seriously)

When I first used it, I left the vault with bleak grey skies.
The first thought of mine was "This looks like Fallout should".

Oh, I didn't really notice the difference till I saw them side by side, then I was impressed.
