I'd never heard of this game, and now (not surprisingly), the game's webhost is getting slammed.

You never heard of... SkiFree?

Man, I remember SkiFree! That game was awesome. Did it come with Windows 98? I want to play it now. The official site is down, and I tried to find an alternate host but some spyware virus-ridden site is in the top results for Google 'skifree'. Beware.

Haha, I remember that game and the evil guy. I never knew about 'F' either. Wasn't it just a game where you kept going downhill, and downhill, and downhill some more?

SkiFree was included in the start-programs-(accessories?)-games menu on my Windows 95 machine, I believe. Along with some simple Microsoft golf game, solitaire, and minesweeper. Don't remember anything else of the top of my head.

I assumed it was a game like that, even though I don't think I ever played it.

The games of the Windows (95?) Plus pack were gracious though. Especially Chip's Challenge. And who remembers that "Hover" game some editions of Windows 95 had? 'twas neat

nope.

I have SkiFree on my thumb drive, you heathens.

It was originally for Windows 3.11 as part of a commercial games pack by Microsoft but the author has retained the rights and released a native Windows 32-bit version for free.

I remember exactly where I was when I first saw someone get past the monster. It was magical.

It boggles my mind the number of people who've posted in this thread that they've never heard of SkiFree.

SkiFree was good, Chip's Challenge was better.

I didn't like any of the games mentioned so far (well except the hover one). I did enjoy JezzBall though.

I just played JezzBall and Maxwell's Maniac.... yeah I still have that game pack on my HD :|

The guy who originally made Pipe Mania (ported to other systems as Pipe Dreams) used to be my boss, I've also met (had drinks with, technnically) the people who made Fantasy World Dizzy.

Hover was amazing. I keep my 95 CD around just so I can install it from time to time. Works fine under XP... Haven't tried it on Vista or Win7 though.

Woo, site is back up! I got SkiFree. Awesome game. I'm sure I spotted a tree moving! I don't remember that from back in the day.

I too thought I saw a tree moving, but dismissed the idea.

I noted it for the first time last night, and I also don't remember seeing it before. I know you can make the dog pee, but moving trees is a new one for me.

Also, were there always two monsters? I only remember being hunted by the one.

Hehe, I got to the official site before it went down.
I had no idea about the F thing, it feels like cheating using that after all this time.

Yea, I never knew about the F thing but I managed to get past him once in a while with a good set of jumps.

I did a jump and landed right on the snowman, it was pretty lame. :(
