hey, i need help playin on zone, see everytime i try to join a game the screen stays black for a long while, then i get to the user screen, click on my user name then im at the the main menu!!! so i exit out and their's a notice asking me to stay in that room or cancel to go to lobby, any help?

Are you behind any firewalls? Did you try deleting the zone and playing on IP games?

haven't tried ip... and the only firewall i have is...that service pack 2 one that it comes with. but, it was like this before i downloaded it, and i did delete zone and reinstall it, still don't work. sigh...

Try connecting via IP to someone. If that works, the zone software just sucks. Otherwise, I'd say you're not connecting to the right ports.

I don't understand your problem...

Try logging out and back into .NET Passport.

If it still doesn't work, try uninstalling the client Zone software and redownloading it.

If you're behind a router or firewall search microsoft.com, there's a knowledge base article about what ports you'd need to open. (You need to open DirectX ports, which I have listed here as well as the KB article, and some extra Zone ports which are listed only in the knowledge base article.)
