Hey all, I was fiddling around on Steam and noticed they had put up the Jedi Knight back, then on a whim I came to this site to see if anyone still cared about JK2 and was pleased to see this community still with active members.

So does anyone here still dabble in JK? I noticed that most of the posts are regarding newer games.

I was hoping to find a bunch of people to play some JK with!

So how's every one doing?!

There's been some pretty important updates in the Jedi Knight editing community as of late (within the past couple of years anyways). Updates to JED (now called ZED) as well as tweaks and hacks to the game engine to improve it somewhat.

Most of the entries in the current level contest are for Jedi Knight: http://forums.massassi.net/vb3/showthread.php?t=55454

Hello.

Once you've entered Massassi, there is no turning back.

At least, that's what they said when I joined.

Whats a JK2?

Welcome.

Games can be set up every now and then, although it is somewhat rare that everyone actually plays together.

There are a ton of great multiplayer levels hosted here for JK as well as some excellent mods. A few things I would recomend are:

Jedi Knight Patch Commander (manages your mods)
the unofficial JK patch
Jedi Knight Enhanced

there are tutorials here, I believe, explaining how to install levels and run mods. I would post links but I am posting from my mobile currently. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you'd like to play online sometime just PM me.

Does anybody at all get together and play JK regularly anymore on these forums? Have I been missing a weekly gathering? I've still got JA installed and play occasionally (once every 3 months) but haven't seen a thread here for JK play regularly in years. I'd gladly install JK again and play some grapple mod with JHS or something.

We used to play regularly in #massgames, but that was about 4 or 5 years ago.

I wouldnt mind playing JK again online.

Looks like I came to the right place then! I used to play JK2 into the ground back in the MSN Gaming Zone days. It changed my life. :P I never would have fallen in love with Counter-Strike, or any other shooter if it hadn't been for that game.

So some Grappling mod on JHS sounds amazing! :P

Anyway, thanks for the welcome all.

You mean DF2:JK, right? JK2 is Jedi Outcast.

For a short time, you could play JK2 on the Zone.

Which was weird. Not sure how that worked.

All it is now is those stupid flash games that you can probably find for free on addictinggames.com

I miss the days of the actual zone.

I like this because it's a 5 year old play on a decade old joke. It is weighty with age.

except on xbox live everyone calls you a gay n***** over your speakers so the whole house can see it -- unlike the zone where they could just type it.
