Chapter 2 has *finally* been released! Stream it from the site or d/l through Vimeo right now, they intend to have a higher res version up soon.

? :)

Might as well wait for the HQ version then. After so many years of waiting, it makes little difference if you wait days or a week more. Considering the level of quality of the first chapter, I'm sure the second one would as well justify a better resolution.

Episode 1 for those like me who hadn't seen it:

Some really funny references in the first one, glad they improved the humor and quality in the second. I was hoping they'd address racism against clone troopers and enlistees vs draftees. These have always been the stormtrooper concepts I've wondered about.

They've also added a couple download links as well as the musical score.

Looking at the downloadable version's specs, 487MB and 23 mins, it should be reasonably high-res already. Too bad I can't download it. I have tried some 25 times throughout the day from the Filefront page but I keep timing out. I wonder if there's a torrent somewhere. But I don't really know that many trackers where to look for one.

Highly annoying.

Uhhhh just watched the first one... I mean, they did pretty swell with their visual effects, but most other aspects of it are BAAAAAAAAAD.

"first one" as in IMPS Chapter one, or "TROOPS"?

I didn't expect to like it, but I do. Pretty good for what it is.

I guess it's better than I expected. Hopefully they'll put together some kind of cool over-arching story with that freighter escaping Imperial hands twice.

I think it was great. It's supposed to have a documentary style like that, derived right from its roots in Troops, and thus a more dense plot could be even somewhat strange. I don't usually like pseudo-documentary style, I hated it in District 9, but I like it in this.

Great graphics, (surprisingly) decent acting. Well thought-out details (even though you can see the back of an ordinary computer PSU in the cockpit). Seriously, if they manage to finish this series with the current (or better) quality level, Lucas should buy these things and bundle them together with some anniversary release of the OT in the future.

I can't get over how close the two star destroyers get 6mins into the first one.

I'm pretty sure the narrator has done work for Cartoon network, specifically Toonami. Anyone else notice this? (EDIT: oh duh, transformers too :downswords: Wonder how they bagged him?)

Whats up with the lack of Coruscant accents? Thought mostly everyone in the navy had them?
Also what game/engine are they using if any?

Badass series so far.

I don't know how they got Peter Cullen, but I'm glad they did :D

They don't use a game, it's all custom rendering.

I'm thinking lucas arts needs to hire a few of their design team members. Holy crap. Can you imagine a Battlegrounds/Battlefront or addition to the X-wing/Tie Fighter series with those graphics? Seems like everything was spot on too.

Makes me want LA to release a Call of Duty style SW game. (battlefront doesn't count)

Also I feel like I've heard several other voice actors as well, maybe from video games and the likes, I'd definitely get a good kick out of it if they got Steven Blum in there.

And I thought Escape from City 17 was promising. This is really great, I'm surprised I never came across it before.

Chapter 2 was in post-production for 4 years, Chapter 3 supposedly isn't too far behind (but then again, that's what they said 4 years ago with Chapter 2). The original idea was that a new chapter would be released every couple months, and we see how well that turned out.

The thought put into the AT-AT design makes far more sense then the "Canon" design (Hatch underneath).
That needs to be made canon.

I'd have to say it's clearly not. The tone of the narration is serious, but that's just for contrast with the clearly silly and unprofessional antics of the film's subjects.

Side hatches and drop cables are canon.
