Holiday Break JK Extravaganza
2009-11-30, 1:16 PM #1
Well since I won't be working over the holiday break, I was wondering if people were interested in getting a week or two of solid JK/MotS gaming action going? I'm really aching to play lately, I'm not sure why. I'd be interesting in hosting some games, as I'm sure others might be as well. Is anyone else interested?
2009-11-30, 1:18 PM #2
I'd play... if I had internet at home. .(

I'm interested!

We will definitely play. I'm interested in getting
some vanilla JK action going; like deathmatch and CTF as well.
Quick question, can people run JK:E in a multiplayer game with someone who isn't? Also,
also the thing limit patch -- will that screw up multiplayer games with people who don't have the dll in place?

In addition to vanilla classic JK gameplay, I'm down for some
modded variations as well, SBX , Fatal Resistance, or what have you. We can pick those mods as we go. Anyone else game? I know support for the game is pretty much dead, but anyone who is game for a short revival over the holiday season may apply here!

We should play some Stories Untold in the STUN level pack.
2009-11-30, 4:54 PM #7
I'd be up for it. Probably will have to torrent my MotS, though, since the disc has a crack in it. :(
I can't wait for the day schools get the money they need, and the military has to hold bake sales to afford bombs.
2009-11-30, 5:08 PM #8
You can always get it on STEAM for all of $3
Isn't Stories Untold really buggy?
2009-11-30, 5:10 PM #9
yo yo as long as we play Detty's JO CTF levels aiight
2009-11-30, 5:16 PM #10
Why would we play J.O? Dark Forces 2/MotS only!!!
2009-11-30, 5:28 PM #11
YO ***** U HERD BOUT DETTY'S LEVELS CUZ
2009-11-30, 5:40 PM #12
Hell yes.

We should pick certain mods for certain nights and different level sets per mod. Then make a schedule and have at it.

(ex. Tuesday night, SS3 at MLP3 - 7pm eastern)

I dont remember having problems with bugs in it when I beta tested it...

BGJ NF Sabers Only! :P

Well we could definitely do that. And Onimusha -- that is a great idea! Now that I presume mostly everybody has decent internet, everybody will be able to download the required mods/levels when needed without much trouble. L
List any mods/maps you want to see in the rotion; I'll list mine:

Mods:
Fatal Resistance mod (or Space Soldiers 3)
SBX
Goldeneye

Levels:
Drazen Isle
Area 21
Haven
Higher Ground
The "X" Frame

Don't crucify me but what is TODOA?
2009-11-30, 6:57 PM #17
I'll post several level ideas later this week but some great saber levels, especially for SBX is the Galactic Locations level pack.

I have some great gunner maps on my PC at home, when I am finished moving and have hooked it back up I will post my lists that I've found are great for each gameplay mode.

Also Ninja Kage for a mod might be amusing for one night of deathmatch. Instagib might be another good one as well.

Definitely! I remember Ninja Kage! hahaha, good stuff. As we get more ideas, we can can compile a list of levels/mods that we will use.
2009-11-30, 7:17 PM #19
I'd like to play some of the MLP levels as I never had a chance to play those online.

I'm in if GoldenEye can be at the GoldenEye bunker, and if Fatal Resistance can be at FR Oasis.

Actually I'll play anyways, but I'd like to see those along with KWP, EWP, JHS, Caesars Palace, SMHQ, Manticeville, Space Colony Inc., and Phoenix Suburban City. You can add me on MSN if it would make organizing games any easier.

If I get a chance to finish backing up all of my data on my iMac, I'll throw Windows XP on another partition & install JK/MotS so that I can play.
? :)
2009-12-01, 9:32 AM #22
We should play some Yoda's House as well.
2009-12-01, 10:44 AM #23
lawl.

reclusion or the most recent spiral level (Forgot the name) would be good for ss3.

Though I have a feeling the jackal will get abused.

That'd be Haven... ;) hahaha. Yeah, but oh well it's a good time anyway.. especially if you have your monitor settings low enough. I really want to get into some CTF and whatnot, I've only played CTF on JK a few times but every time I have it's been a blast for sure!
2009-12-01, 11:25 AM #25
I'd definitely be down as I most likely will not be working over the break. I like the idea of the schedule and stuff as that would make it much easier to coordinate the games.

Galactic Locations
2009-12-01, 1:26 PM #27
Okay, I propose we use SBX at Galactic Locations, maybe pick out characters before we start too?
2009-12-01, 2:39 PM #28
Erm what about Nar CTF? Surely thats the best level? I was amazing at that when I was 14 :D

TODOA is the realization of the next level of computer gaming. The cherry on top that you want to pick so hard it's making your body produce cherry tree seeds. The EXPERIENCE that you never in your wildest dreams could have hoped to flow through your mind like a bullet through the head of the late but great John F. Kennedy, President of The United States of America and a rigorous advocate of TODOA. Free yourself of misconceptions, of falsities and of ignorance; play TODOA today.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I wish my levels had that amount of fame! And mine have actually been released!

;)

ps: saying that I've played betas of TODOA and it's awesome.

I'm pretty sure Fastgamerr bribed kroko to say that.

I'm game for any amount of CTF Nar or Fusion. I guess I'll have to find a copy of the game and a suitable computer, but for CTF I'll do it.

(How many people do we have here who know the old codes: RCR, WE, sewer, GBD, etc...?)

Me! Me! Me! Fusion, Nar & GZ2 were always my favorites. I feel nostalgic just thinking about playing JK/MotS. I still chat with Bodfoy, Fogogg, Purity & Tigercub on occasion. I'll mention this thread to them on the off chance that they'd be interested.
? :)
2009-12-01, 6:00 PM #36
wow... so there might actually be a chance of getting the requisite 4 people together for it. Awesome!

I had totally forgotten about GZ2, but you're right, it's a terrific level.

I'm really game for anything to be honest, as long as we can get some sick JK action pumpin'.

1. JKE is a simple model/texture replacement pack. It does not interfere with JK's netcode or checksum system in any way whatsoever. So to answer your question, yes it works with people who run and don't run JKE.

2. The latest unofficial patches were designed to be backwards compatible with vanilla JK. So yes to this too. There are no problems here.
2009-12-01, 11:38 PM #39
I can play, depending on the time. I don't care what mods we run.
