Never done something like this before .. but I've had to take a leave of absence from school. I'll return in the middle of the semester so :suicide: and won't be able to take those classes for another year. So I'm hoping I can just find the same classes online and complete them that way.

I don't know how the whole online thing works .. I just wanna take a couple random classes. Do I gotta go through something like University of Phoenix?

I want something I can just find the class I want, select it, pay for it, join the class, and get the credit. I don't want to have to deal with selecting a degree and going through a bunch of crap, if I can.

I don't know a lot about Phoenix University Online but many schools offer online courses now. Are you certain that your current school doesn't offer the classes that you need, online? The problem with many online classes is going to be whether or not the credit will transfer.
? :)

This. You need to be 150% positive it'll transfer, and only your college can tell you that. Otherwise you're throwing time and money away.

Especially with Phoenix Online. At my school, the administration and faculty referred to UPO (and similar) as "bonehead TV schools." Of course, this was the Business department; computer courses are different because of certificates and all.

Transferring things is the most complicated turd process. You need to check BOTH your current school, and any future schools for transfer eligibility.

In my experience, "real" universities are just as bad as "bonehead TV schools", if not worse, because they think their **** doesn't stink and having a piece of paper from them is like having a bar of gold in your pocket.

School doesn't offer online courses so I need to look else where.

So far all I've found is places that want me to request more info just like any regular university would.

I just want to enroll in a course or two. My school doesn't really care about transferring credits. If they see I'm taking a course they approve they'll give me credit for it. They were really nice about trying to work around my leave of absence.

I need so many credits in order to go on internship after this next semester (which just began). I could return in a month, having missed half the classes, but that's a bone head move. Catchup would suck. But unless I have so many credits by the end of the next semester, I can't go on internship and have to wait a full year.

So taking one or two courses should scrape me by, and they won't even care about me completing the other courses. I just need to meet some regulation.

I've gave up looking at places like Phoenix and found more luck searching for "Independent / Distant " education. It's exactly what I'm looking for, but so far I have not found a place offering the classes I need.

Just looking for like Spanish I/II, Intro to Marketing, Interpersonal Communications, Writing Fundamentals, basic crap like that.

While I don't disagree on any particular point, it doesn't really matter what we think. What matters is that a "real" university will get one a lot farther than a "fake" university or two-year college, no matter the comparative quality of the faculty or education.
