Cold icky white stuff. I figure I might as well find something fun to do with it while I'm stuck here. :neckbeard:

I don't think I've ever seen a snowmobile in person.

I don't think I have either. What are they like to drive? It's hard to imagine them getting any sort of traction but from videos it appears that they are quite mobile.

Oh, they go right along...a lot of fun. Similar to a 4wheeler / quad, I guess, but more 'slippery'.

I'm looking at this one tomorrow.

I don't have one but have driven a few. They're a lot of fun and I hope to have one someday. Definitely recommend at least trying one out to anyone who hasn't.

I found a suit and helmet for 100 bucks - I don't need a fourth helmet, but this already has the snow shield (vs the regular motorcycle shield)...and $100 for everything is an absolute steal. Picking that up on Thursday, and hopefully the sled tomorrow. :awesome:

I'd like to get one once I move back up north (Wisconsin). Lots of cool trails up there.

Just might be nothing after your motor blows up...

Haha, well I suppose if you don't know how to maintain your snowmobile. ;)
I have a '98 Jaguar; and alot of my friends own artic cats, though
a couple own Yamaha or Polaris. Idk, mine's never had any problems, and this
is an 11 year old sled...

Cats have a bad rep on motors - unsure what exactly the issue is. The Yamaha triples are known for being bulletproof - like 20,000 miles or more without a rebuild. The suspensions on the vmax's are meh though.

Ditto.... But they look like fun. I imagine them being similar to jet skis, and those things are ungodly fun.

The only time I've seen snowmobiles has been when I've been snowboarding, and they just get in the way! :(
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

I have a SKi-Doo Rev 600. Looks pretty much like this. I hate snow, but this makes me tolerate it.

**** that, Ski-doo stomps Artic Cats into the ground.

Couple buddies of mine and I go to upstate NY to drag race their sleds. I don't own one myself, but they do, and have poured way too much money into them. They are scary fast. When you get into performance sleds like the Ski-doo rev's and such, its more like riding a quad crosses a motorcycle. They bring them up and past 80 mph all the time. Scares the living **** out of me.

JLee, definitely check out the helmets with the electric defog units for the visor, they work wonders, especially for night riding.

On the list already. ;)

Any modern sled should do well over 80mph. Mine weighs 476lb..I'm not sure of the horsepower, but it's somewhere north of 100. Significantly more than my motorcycle.

Yeah I know, it just scares me ****less when all you've got to hang onto is the guy driving and your driving at night with tons of hard ice and snow around you.

I'll stick with jet skiis thank you. =)
