Because we haven't had one of these in a long time, and because I just bought a whole lot of Divine Reserve 9.

So what have you been drinking lately, Massassi?

I don't have any beer in my house... But I just bought two big bottles of E&J VSOP Brandy because they came with flasks for $10, a handle of Sailor Jerry, a fifth of 151, a fifth of Jeremiah Weed's Sweet Tea Vodka and Bourbon Whiskey, and a small bottle of Crown.

I love the holidays... Sales at the liquor store!

Gritty's Christmas Ale.

Awesome.

Just the usual, Sam Adam's Boston Lager. There's a large wine & liquor place in Jax, but they don't carry my particular German import.

Nothing too spectacular. I am working on some Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown. It's not that good but I must finish off the 12 pack I bought.

Try the winter ale. It's good.
2009-12-01, 7:44 PM #11
For that matter, try the whole winter sampler. Fezziwig Ale and Holiday Porter are both pretty good.

Roxy Rolles is one of my new favorite fall seasonals. Nice to get something other than a marzen or brown ale that time of year for once.

I finished up my Stone IPA last night. Now I gotta polish off the wine...or get more Stone IPA. Decisions. Decisions.

Does anyone else here go to a brewpub? There's something satisfying about knowing the beer you're drinking was brewed in that same building.

San Marcos Brewery & Grill
Pizza Port Brewing Co
Karl Strauss Brewing Co.
Stone Brewing Co (although not really a pub)

And yes, it is very satisfying.

I've been drinking mostly cheap beer lately. I suppose that comes with being almost broke at the end of the semester. Stroh's, Icehouse, and that kind.

Yeah it's a cider, I don't particularly enjoy beer.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I won't be drinking any beer until our New Year Eve party. I was in France for 2 weeks & those bastards made me drink breakfast, lunch & dinner. I got sick just about every night. Who in their right mind drinks white wine & eats snails & shrimp for breakfast? The French, that's who!
? :)

We just had a half-barrel of DogFish Head & Sierra Nevada's Life & Limb delivered today, can't wait to try it in about a week.

I just recently tried the DogFish Head 120 Minute IPA for the first time. I hated it, but I'm not really into IPAs to begin with.
2009-12-02, 6:00 PM #24
When I was getting my DR9, I overheard a couple of the beer guys at Whole Foods saying that bottles of Life & Limb would be coming in soon. Definitely excited to try that one. Sierra Nevada is riding a hot streak with their last few new releases.

Better than the Halloween Ale? I wasn't too impressed with that one.

Yeah, I've said in at least one earlier thread it's a lot like a hop liquor than a beer. I liked it, but I really like IPAs and it was awesome to try such an odd one that wasn't brewed in the NorthWest.

I agree, especially with their recent shift towards acquiring fresh hops sources (along with quite a few breweries in the region). I've heard Life & Limb is using some of Sierra Nevada's new proprietary hop, but I'm not positive on that.

The Saucer got a keg of it in this past weekend, so I actually got to try it on draught. Truthfully, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was alright, but it didn't seem to have the big flavors I was expecting. Then again, it was a pretty small serving and might just not have had time to warm up. If there are bottles left, I'll probably pick one up after finals to give it another try.

Bigfoot will come out again in early January. I actually still have a few bottles of last year's release.

Flying Saucer = Awesome (I assume that's what you're referring to when you say "The Saucer")

I'm 47 away from 200 beers right now. Choosing what to go with next is difficult sometimes now.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm 46 beers away from getting my plate. I frequently have to look up their menu before I go and plan in advance.

But that's the beauty of thinking one or two beers ahead. If they don't have it, you can move smoothly to your next choice.

Though I can see this being a problem if you planned to start with something understated and then move on to something bigger.

And I thought you could get Sierra Nevada everywhere... I know you can get it all over Ohio.

I am quite pleased with SNCA. I got it because I thought some people were coming over. They all reneged on me. :( Oh well. More beer for me!

The brewery is located in the western united states. I figure if you can get it in ohio, you can probably get it anywhere.
