The Force Unleashed: Ulitmate Sith Edition.. for PC?

This could be old news, but I was never aware they even had plans to port the game to pc... I was walking in Target yesterday and happened to see it sitting on the shelf with the other pc games. At first I thought they had miss placed the xbox360 game, but it clearly had a pc dvdrom logo on it. I checked LucasArts and their site says nothing about it, but the game is however listed on Targets website. Anyone tried the PC version? Am I just late getting this news?

I havn't, but a friend I work with says it's a really good port. He said it has lots of added content and a couple extra levels, but I'm still skeptical though.

There was a thread and the Massassi consensus was that the port sucked.

Or something.

The game sucked.

I convinced myself that I liked it until I beat it just because I had high hopes for it. But it really is a huge let down.

I quite enjoyed the 360 version, it was easy but fun. Using over-the-top force moves is awesome.

Some areas of the game were frustrating while I was playing it but I managed to overcome each area that gave me grief. I came to the realization while I was playing it (360 version) that the game is exactly the genre best suited for me, button masher. I think people had some misdirected high hopes for the PC game because they want to mod it. I just don't see the appeal of a button masher on the PC. Maybe if you play it with a 360 controller, I don't know.

I think the story to the game was pretty awesome, and the idea behind it had such incredible potential but it just wasn't pulled off right. That and the game's targeting was glitchy to the point of being more than an annoyance (Star Destroyer level anyone...).

I actually just played through it and beat it on Wii (wanted to try it on that platform) this last week. Graphics weren't anything like 360/PS3, but I enjoyed it. Don't see why there's so much hate for the game. It's not perfect by any means, but overall I felt it was a solid game.

Just felt like it needed some more time in development to really polish the thing...

On the contrary, I heard from folks that it is really a half-assed port.

The port sucks because - apparently you can't even run it properly on systems that meet recommended requirements. So you'll need a lot better than what the box says. Secondly, you can't change any graphic settings other than resolution.

Target released some kind of patch which I believe allowed for some tweaking, but I haven't heard from anyone if it improved the game.

I can't run it myself. But a friend has a PC that's even better than what the game says is 'recommended', but performance was so choppy that he couldn't play it really.

i'm furious whenever i see that game because of how ****ty it was.

the wii version is terrible and barely worth the $20 it is now

I thought the exact same way when I bought Driver3.
All that hype, and it was a buggy, ****ty, rushed mess.

Yeah you can blame Atari for Driver 3, they were after some quick revenue and pushed it out the door 6 months too soon.

They learned their lesson with Parallel Lines, but that wasn't quite as good as the first 2. :(
nope.

The framerate is capped at 30.

Your monitor updates at least 60 times a second, so yeah, the difference is noticeable. The eye can only discern distinct still images at about 12 frames a second but that doesn't mean it can't notice smoothness with faster frame rates.

Yes, it does. Games do not make use of "motion blur" (most games that do only apply blur to when you move the mouse), which gives the feeling of smoother video when watching say, a movie. Also, we have a predisposition to expect a lower framerate when watching a movie, so it's part subconscious.

What?

In tests done on fighter pilots, researchers were able to flash frames for 1/250th of a second of various aircraft. The participants could not only see the images but identify the aircraft.

Yeah, those are "fighter pilots," doesn't matter, they aren't superhuman. You can easily discern far more than 24, 30 or even 60 FPS.
