So I guess there is going to be a new version, again. Apparently just a bigger screen. Supposedly there may be a 3G enabled version coming further on down the road.



Looks like I'll have to stick with the original though as I really like the homebrew ability of the older versions.

Good for Nintendo, Hardware updates are great.

I'd be interested if it had a GBA slot. I still love playing my old games, so I guess I will stick to my DS Lite (not that I play it that often anyway).

It's out in Japan. It is the DSi with larger screens, that's it. DS Lite is still better unless your eyes need help.

Anyway, I don't hate on Nintendo for updating their product again. I kind of see this as a useless one for someone that has a previous version. I'm with Brian on preferring the older versions because they have the GBA slot. I ordered the wrong slot 2 card for mine (I ordered the DS Lite version) when I also bought an Acekard 2. I was hoping to run SCUMMVM and try out Full Throttle and The Dig on the DS. So now I either have to buy another card or buy a DS. I'm actually leaning towards picking up a DS Lite for myself and sending the older version to an in-law in Panama that has asked for one. Plus I recently received a $60 Amazon gift card to soften the blow.

By the way, what film is that clip from? I'm thinking Valkyrie because I haven't watched it yet.

It seems that sony gets a lot more hate than nintendo when they do some incremental refresh.

Because sony does a poor job at it. Look at the slim PS3. Hell, look at what has become of all the PS3 hardware. It's nothing compared to the old 60 and 80 gig models.

Even the PSP-3000 wasn't even worth the improvement to consider it a new design, they should have just started selling 2002 models in place of the 2001 and never made a big deal out of it.
