This is awesome, finally someone has the balls to release a movie like this. I didn't realize it was based on a comic though. We can only imagine the complaints from soccer moms and FOX news when this movie is released.

Your thread is very anti-peoplethatcantlookatyoutube-friendly.
(At least say the name of the movie?

I saw a longer trailer for it at Avatar.

Looks stupid.

That looks extremely stupid. Also, I hate Nicholas Cage. Terrible actor. He has like three acting modes. Stuttery, quiet and moody, and yelling.

I think it looks really funny. There's nothing cuter than little kids using curse-words. I have a video of me dropping the f-bomb when I was 3 & I intend to break that record for my children. I must admit that I'm not the biggest Nicholas Cage fan either but he does have a few good movies (e.g. Raising Arizona). He's sort of like Vin Diesel. They're both the same guy in every film.
? :)

I watched 38 seconds. It looked stupid.

Kick *** looks awesome. Matthew Vaughn impressed the hell out of my with Layer Cake, so I'm psyched to see his take on superheroes.

I have no idea what Fox News and Moms have to do with it but that trailer gives me further nostalgia for The Banana Splits.

I don't care much for Cage either, but this looks ****ing hilarious. And yes, I'd set the over-under on ridiculous what-is-happening-to-our-society Fox News pieces about this movie at exactly 2.

They had a rough cut of this movie at Butt-Numb-A-Thon this year... I hear it was fantastic.

Although really, all news networks do it so it's not a FOX issue.

Thats the name of that one character this particular trailer focuses on.
DO NOT WANT.

This teaser trailer featuring more of the "Kick-***" character looks much better.

I love the basic origin story of his character. He dons a costume, goes out to fight crime, and gets his *** kicked so bad he's hospitalized for 6 months. When he finally gets out of the hospital, he has massive nerve damage, and as a result, can no longer feel pain, making him capable of taking serious beatings and sustaining severe injury without impeding his ability to fight crime.

I would argue that he actually has four: getting led around by children actually comes up in his movies often enough, but I agree otherwise.

That's seriously his origin story? Pretty creative if I must say, I like it.

I kid you not.

The dude that played McLovin in Superbad is in it too as a character called Red Mist who is just a spoiled rich kid and buys a bunch of **** to make him an awesome superhero, like an awesome car and gadgets and stuff, but none of it does any good and he still ends up getting the **** beat out of him all the time, so he buys a gun and just starts shooting anyone he suspects of a crime.

Nic Cage is a Batman-esque character called Big Daddy who's been doing it for a long time, and his daughter, Hit Girl, as you can see, is a 11 year old foul mouthed gun toting murder machine. After Big Daddy is so well known that the criminals expect his attacks, he uses his daughter to distract them/kill some of them and he takes care of the rest.

This movie has nailed the comic pitch perfect, and it is going to be super super badass. I hope they pull off the kick *** lines, too... like "I can't read your mind, but I can kick your ***", "I can't drive a car, but I can kick your ***" etc...

So that Nic Cage costume of Big Daddy being similar to the Batman costume is deliberate?
2009-12-24, 9:12 PM #32
It looks hilarious. I may actually see this in theaters.
