Remind me in a couple of days, Steam seems to be getting hammered pretty hard and I can't keep download speeds even above 50 kB/s. :(

Even on my parents' crappy 1.5 megabit connection, this is rather slow.

I got Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Defense Grid, and STALKER for about $12. Never played any of them before or even seen anyone play them.

I would buy GTA: San Andreas but it's still selling for $20...Who is going to pay that?

Just a forewarning to those of you who may purchase the id pack running windows 7 64. I ran into an issue where Quake 2 wouldn't launch. Ended up needing to download nHancer to get it to work. There's a post on the Steam forums detailing what to do:

It appears to be an issue with nVidia's graphics drivers.

:-\ UT2003 was great when it came out. I really enjoyed it. UT2004 added vehicles, which, imo just broke what UT was about.

UT2004 and UT3 are fun, but the original UT will always be the best.

Because UT2004 has everything UT2003 has and a lot more. UT2004 was little more than an expansion pack really, so much so that when it originally came out they offered discounts to those who owned 2003.

UT2003 was a bug-ridden, pc-resource-sucking failure, that's why. UT2004 is everything UT2K3 should have been and more. In fact, iirc, I thought Atari even gave some rebates and crap for people who bought UT2003 when UT2004 came out. But... that could be the egg nog talking...

I love the vehicles, and there are dev packs out there that add even more vehicles (most aren't as slick as the originals, though). I've even got some UT maps with vehicles as well.

I just hooked three of my friends up with games:

Half Life 2: Deathmatch
2 Copies of Red Faction Guerilla.

All for 47 dollars. Steam is now my good friend. :neckbeard:

I'm too lazy to look back in the thread. If they're still offering it, is UT3 worth the $13 for the whole Unreal Pack? I already own everything else in the pack but Unreal2 and UT3.

that's how i felt about buying torchlight on the weekend deal only for them to have it on sale for $5 on the holiday sale
