I'm having internets trouble. Any ideas?

Starting about 3 days go, my internet has been acting up. It will not allow certain sites to load all the way. It just stops with a completely white browser window and says "waiting for [insert site name here]".

It doesn't do it on all sites, but I'd say possibly a majority of them. At first I thought maybe it was because my browser started blocking sites that seemed "unsafe", but it's doing it for sites like "www.comedycentral.com" and other sites that are obviously not attack sites. Maybe I have some form of virus? I tried doing a system restore, but it didn't help. I can still browse these sites on my iphone, so it's not a server problem.

Any thoughts?

adding sites to the list of ones that don't work as I remember them:

Ain't It Cool News
Super Hero Hype
Colbert Nation
YouTube (Partially loads, but not everything displays, and I never get a "Done" at the bottom of the browser)

Open command prompt, try ipconfig /release, then ipconfig /renew. If you haven't already done so, reboot your router and stuff. Post output from a normal ipconfig after reboot.

"normal ipconfig" where does it save that info to? i cant remember

also, if I have wifi enabled on my iPhone and try to go to one of these sites, it does the same thing. That leads me to believe that it's something wrong with my network, not my PC.

I've had spyware that targets the most frequently visited sites. I ended up having to format to get rid of it.

Have you tried a direct connection from your modem? It's a possibility that something's wrong with your router.

Anthony, I would think that's it, but my roommates computer is doing it too, plus myspace and facebook both work fine.

As for a direct line, my computer is set up for the router, so if I run a direct line it doesn't recognize the modem. I have to go through the router.

If I recall correctly I had to flash the router and reinstall the firmware because it had been infested with some kind of crap.
