Ok, I know the hardware on my PC is a few years old, but it won't run The Force Unleashed worth a flip. Are the minimum requirements too steep for the average user, or is this common nowadays?

Well, I'm only interested in the CPU and video card. The RAM required is just 2 GB.

TFU:USE BLA BLA BLA minimum system requirements:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 5200+

ATI Radeon HD 2600 256 MB Video memory OR Nvidia GeForce 8600 256 MB vid mem

2006-era processor and three-generation-old video card? I think that's fine for minimum reqs.

just got the game and got my computer up to specs to run it. i have 3 gig ram, athlon x2 4450e, and just got a new video card installed today: evga 9500 1gig. game runs flawlessly on mid range settings.
