Animated ones suck, I'm much happier to have a non-animated strangelove, it's amusing without being annoying and distracting.
I would be very happy if we never had something as annoying and distracting as that crappy hypnotoad gif ever again.

As for fun... I don't share your warped idea of fun.
I find video games fun, witty forum conversations and sometimes the odd political debate (before people start childish mudslinging) can be fun. Theres all kinds of fun things in this world, but an animated gif designed to be annoying is just... annoying
