Playstation 3 bd live internet connection

There is a setting on the ps3 that allows me to set either "confirm" or "allow" for bd live. The confirm option implies that when I insert a disk that wants internet access, I will be prompted and then can allow or deny just for that disk. However, the behavior I'm getting is that when I put in a disk, it asks me if I want to allow internet connection for ALL bd live disks. Which is stupid, because if I say no, it starts the disk w/out internet (and thus, for example, I can't stream netflix), and if I say yes, it changes the global setting to allow ALL disks internet access. When the disk is ejected, the setting stays the same and all subsequent disks have internet access until I go back into settings and change it back to "confirm." This doesn't make sense, it feels like they are trying to shove the internet access crap down my throat -- and it sucks even more because if disks have internet access, they often take forever to load because it's downloading a bunch of crap I don't want anyway. The blu ray performance is much better w/out internet. Is there some other way of making sure only the disks I say have internet access?

Also, I just updated to the latest ps3 update and it's the same.

Also, as I mentioned in a previous thread, they totally nerfed the auto-play disk feature. It won't autoplay the disk if it's already in the ps when I turn it on. It won't auto-play the disk if I pop the disk in the player when it's off (it will turn it on, suck in the disk, but won't actually run the disk). I am getting more and more frustrated with this thing the more I use it :(

Nope. Use your 360 for Netflix and keep BD Live off, problem solved :P

(or do what I did and just get a cheap bluray player that does netflix/pandora/youtube)

What would a BD be using the INTERNET for.
(Opera decided that the proper way to spell INTERNET is full capitals, so by god it shall be!)

Supposedly it's to download "features" and "extras" and a bunch of other crap. But really they just phone home so they can track how many times you watch the stupid movie.

I have two problems with xbox for netflix:
1. I have to pay again for xbox live
2. xbox live gives me problems regularly (logging in, staying logged in, etc.)

I may end up using the xbox for this, but it means I have to buy another remote plus re-wire the xbox to the internet (since it doesn't have built-in wireless like the wii/ps3/roku/everything else on the planet).

Maybe I will get a cheapo netflix streaming/bluray player. Hrm.
