And I need help. Or, I will need help soon. That's what this topic will be about, helping me. As soon as I open this dang plastic box thing.

It's open. *finally*. I'm gonna go exploring, then I'm gonna need some suggestions. Start posting them now, then make sense of them later. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

EDIT: Apparently it has to charge for three hours, and there's no light to say if it's charging or not so yeah :S Hoping for the best.

I never really found use for a PDA unless if you are in business or have a really complex life. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/confused.gif]

I'm going to be using it mainly to take notes in school and such, because I have ADHD and I can't write very well at all. We're getting this little keyboard attachment thing too. But yeah, any suggestions for programs and upgrades I might need are great. Installing the desktop software now.

I don't think bringing a PDA to take notes is going to do anything but exacerbate your ADHD, what with the games and other capabilities of PDAs.

It's like.. pretty new :S Uh.. it's using the newest PalmOS 5 methinks.

EDIT: It's not that much of a serious case of ADHD. It's just I was once diagnosed, and I heard that it and bad writing went together so...

Actually, that's why I'm calling it a PDA and not a palm pilot. I also like to hold it with both hands, and squish it against my face, trying to see the whole screen at once (Which is still currently off, because it's not charged yet.)

I hate writing by hand. I think getting a PDA is almost as stupid--for the price you can almost have a laptop. But it still beats handwriting.

Good luck--all I can say is find yourself a good, free dictionary and thesauras, ASAP

Already got the dictionary and thingie covered, and this was about $250 canadian. That is nothing near a laptop (Try, $1500)

Er... PocketPCs maybe. But most of the standard Palms run for about 60 to 80 bucks. Probably cheaper depending where you get it. My m100 was only 40 bucks when I got it 2 years ago.

That's a damn good price then. When you said new, I figured you meant like Tungsten or something in the 5-600 USD range.

And laptops only cost 700 at the cheapest.

Yeah it's a tungsten. Don't know exactly what it is. Too lazy to look for the box. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Uh.. Is the charger supposed to be really hot? o-o

Not having a rechargable Palm, I couldn't tell you. But I don't think it'd surprise me.

Yes, it is. My dad has an m130, I think, gets fairly hot.

But shibby--how much space? Enough for some music to go? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

If not, there's always flash cards.

It says it has 32 MB memory, and it brackets (28.8 MB actual space) So no it's not that big. I'm hoping to at least fit pocket wolf on there for lunches [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

How much? I'd have to think about it [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] If it's too expensive my mom will pass it off as not needed.

A quick browse of the PalmOne site reveals this, http://www.palmone.com/us/products/accessories/expansioncards/#software .
Approx 80 bucks USD. 256 Meg Expansion Card, actual space is 250ish. I have no idea if the products displayed cycle, for me, that expansion card was right at the top. If you don't see it there, poke around on that page.

Dude, I think they made Age Of Empires for the PDA. If so you should get that!

Stuff like that costs money. It might take some searching, but there are sites out there with loads of freeware on them for Palms. Some of the games they had were pretty good.

Ok guys, I'm having a problem with HotSync. Whenever I try to 'hot sync' the stuff on my desktop and the PDA, it gets an error saying I could not connect. What's the deal? I can't really give info till you ask questions :S
