EA Download manager - WHAT IS WITH THIS POS

I can't play BF2142. I bought it a couple weeks ago to play it, never got around to it. Go to play it now and it seems Download Manager as completely uninstalled itself and is no longer on my computer. I go to reinstall it and it won't even start, gives me something about failing to initialize because it might be running on more than one windows account, which is not possible. I swear to god I will never buy another EA product again. Help me at least get my money's worth out of the last EA game I will ever buy.

Oh yay. I run Download Manager in compatability mode for Windows 2000 and it works for some reason, what a complete POS of a program. I get into BF2142 and I can't join any servers because it tells me I have an invalid CD key.......on a game that I facking downloaded.

EA SUCKS

Steam should have 2142 once the next/last patch is done, it has BC2.

Brand specific download managers are one of the worst inventions in the past 20 years.

Well, hate to say it, but if you don't buy EA, you can't buy hardly any games.... monopolistic bastards.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

I'm sure a lot of games are sold over Impulse and it didn't at all rub people the wrong way after Stardock's big anti-drm stance!

When I bought Crysis with the EA Download manager it gave me the option of being able to download it multiple times, and I figured "eh, why not, it's only another 10 bux"

I downloaded it and it was corrupted. Had to download it again. I dread to think what would have happened if I didn't pay the extra $10.

I have one 'word' for you:

Arrrrrr!

(there's a semi-hidden message in it)

Don't buy from EA if you don't have to, lesson learned >.>

I don't know anything about that, anything that introduces required or unique functionality is exempt. I'm referring to like, the Adobe Download Manager. What the ****'s the point? I just want a link to the file.
