How well do you really know Star Wars?
2010-01-23, 11:39 AM #1
I found this site of obscure facts about the movies and thought I'd post them here, personally I didn't know a single one of these pieces of trivia.

LANGUAGE WARNING (because the nice lady swore at the end)

I know most of those from reading too many Wookieepedia articles around this time last year. Hoof!

Some of these facts are kinda dumb... like

"George Lucas got some actors to play roles! Alec Guinness played the role of Obi Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight!"
2010-01-23, 12:41 PM #7
like, how is this a 'fact about Star Wars I probably didn't know'
Quote:
Not only did they force Carried Fisher to strap down her boobs, poor thing, just look at her dress. Every inch of skin is covered, and they couldn’t have made her look more frumpy. However, she does get to show a bit of skin in the last sequence, which is the outfit used for the representation of Leia in the original poster – scoop neck, not turtleneck.
2010-01-23, 12:45 PM #8
I think the fact there is supposed to be that she taped her boobs down (and perhaps had a different dress? I don't know)

As for the actors bit, which were you referring too? I found it interesting(scary) that 'Shirley' could've been Leia (and yes, I admit saying "could've" is a bit of a stretch)

Well, that's trivia for you.

To really waste your time you should click 'Random article' on Wookieepedia and find out gems like this.

Apparently artoo and threepio didn't like the "head" in Tunisia.

Clearly they couldn't afford the hookers and blow mentioned in the tax return thread <.<

Hah!

I knew about half of these. :D
nope.

Oh yeah, OT so did I. In fact most of it was on the back end of the special edition VHS videos.
2010-01-23, 5:34 PM #15
I knew most of those except the last one. And a few of those "facts" are exaggerated from the multitude of documentaries I have/have seen. Like Anthony Daniels "frequently passing out from heat stroke". He's said it happened once. Another was James Earl Jones not wanting to be listed in the credits because "he was convinced it would be a flop". JEJ has said it was because he felt he did so little work. Maybe JEJ was being nice. Maybe this list exaggerated. Who knows.

A real trivia fact for Vader would've been that David Prowse didn't know he was going to be dubbed over, or that Lucas only only told Mark Hamill the "I am your father" line right before they shot it, since Prowse said "I killed your father"

Some of you probably dont know this or believe this for that matter that the actress Jodie Foster, was asked to play the part of princess Leia, and she turned it down thinking that this movie was going to be the biggest flop in history. She regretted it afterwards. George Lucas then found Carrie Fisher as we all know.....I hope her boobs didn't hurt too bad during the filming. :XD:

Or how about Carrie Fisher was stoned out of her mind during large parts of Jedi.

So that explains why she acted a little dreamy during the movie.

I thought it was ESB.

...or how Harrison Fold said that he really didn't want to do RotJ.
2010-01-23, 7:38 PM #21
I thought in ESB that Carrie seemed a little too uptight, could of been her role, or sexually frustrated.

Another trivial bit of info: The scars on Mark Hamills Face were actually not fake on ESB, he suffered facial injury from an automobile accident shortly before the shooting of the next installment.

In a way this is true, but not directly, Anakin was left for dead due to the result of Obi-Wans victory, but we all know the story.

The line in the script read "obi wan killed your father" not "i am your father." It was kept a secret to everyone except James Earl Jones (obviously) and Mark Hammill.

Who cares if what he said is true. It is true that he said it.

That is interesting and makes a lot of sense. I could see Darth saying that, then Luke coming back to Obi and then Obi finally explaining the truth.
But to me that would've made Obi a whole lot harder for Luke to forgive.

I'm glad I started this thread, you guys know a lot of interesting trivia

Man, I hate websites that autolink random words in an article.

I'd heard about the dispute between Threepiowood and Artoo from that programme with Justin Lee Collins Bring Back Star Wars, where he tries to reunite the original cast with varying degrees of success (and borderline criminal trespassing to obtain odd interviews). Kenny Baker talks about how Anthony Daniels was a bit of a dick.

I hate spam autolinking too. But on that site they only did it with one word in the very last article (unless it's different for different people or something?)

Yea Carrie was pretty bad on drugs during ESB.

If you look at Ford's lips during the dialogue the two exchange before 3PO walks in on them, you can see him lipping her along.

Uh... I use chrome and I only have the one.
This computer's chrome doesn't even have the adblocker plugin that the chrome on my other computer has.

Yes, because clearly I was referring to only that single idiotic website. There's no other websites with ads like that any where on the internet. You are so much smarter than me that my intelligence is indistinguishable from that of tibby by comparison.

It's a form of advertising, just like google adwords
