Used to be that when i typed a search in my address bar it would default to a google search, and if i used good keywords, it would behave like "i'm feeling lucky."

i.e. when i would type "wiki *insert random topic here*" it would either take me to a wiki article, or it would just do a google search for it.

now when i search in the address bar it takes me to this "OpenDNS Guide" search engine. wtf?

Firefox 3.5.7 on windows 7 ultimate 32bit

I just make keywords for the searches I use most.
$do || ! $do ; try
try: command not found

3.6 is out you know.

It's possible your search term looks like a real url so Firefox tries it. If you're using OpenDNS and you ask for an invalid domain name you get redirected to a search page.

I use Google Public DNS to avoid such non-standards-compliant practices.

yay! although its weird because it was set to something similar already.

also, zzt, i never intended to use OpenDNS for anything. dont know how it got changed really...
