We've had the odd firefox plugin thread, and Chrome has had extension support has been out for quite a while now, so I thought it's about time we had one of these threads.

AdThwart - Just like firefox adblock, it's usefulness goes without saying.

Autocomplete = on - theres the odd site that tells chrome to not ask if you want to save name and password, this changes that.

AutoPager Chrome - very handy for reading forums and things, it loads up the additional pages and adds them to the current one so you can just keep scrolling on.

Beautify Facebook - streamlines facebook, not so important

Facebook Adblock - gets rid of the inbuilt ads, dunno if I still need this really...

FlashBlock - I love this one, especially when I go onto a site that autoplays music or videos that I don't want it to.

Google Dictionary (by Google) - double click a word to highlight it, get a dictionary definition or use of phrase.

Google Reader Checker - adds a RSS button up the top with a reader count, click on it to go to the reader page.

Google Reader Plus - streamlines the reader and colour codes it based on the sites the pages are from.

GooglePreview (by SearchPreview.de) - get thumbnails on the sides of the google pages, handy but not necessary.

IE Tab - button to open the current page in IE, handy now and then.

Send from Gmail (no button) - Just makes my gmail account the default mailer when clicking email links.,

TooManyTabs for Chrome - This one has come in very handy when I've opened too many tabs. It basically displays them in a grid when you hover over it, and you can choose to hide some etc.

Turn Off the Lights - fades out everything on the page except the main video, useful for when there's other pictures and video links around, takes them out of focus.

uTorrent for Google Chrome - handle your torrents from afar, can't actually add torrents atm so to me it's kinda useless, but I'm just waiting on an update.

Doesn't Chrome support Greasemonkey? That'll also clean the hell out of Facebook with the FBPurity script and then a few other ad tweaks in the script.

Yeah, theres a google version of it called Greasemetal.
I didn't look too much into that because it talked about making your own scripts for various stuff and my brain went "mehhh" seems theres a large amount of user-made scripts though...

I used to have AdThwart, but when I realized it sucked I switched to this:

Other ones worth mentioning are:

Clickable Links - turns unlinked web addresses into links

Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer - opens PDFs and other stuff in Google Docs Viewer instead of having to download the file

GoGoogleImage! - Makes Google Image Search results link directly to the image instead of the page its on

One Number - I actually don't really have a use for this, but The Mazz made it so everyone should vote it 5 stars

I used to use quite a few, but discovered a few things:

A. All of the adblockers are terrible. They may block many ads, but they do not block nearly as many as Firefox's extension does. On top of that, they're buggy (flashing in and out sometimes), and slow the browser down quite a bit, to the point where Chrome is no longer the speed demon it used to be.
B. Chrome has various odd javascript issues. Especially annoying on forms like here where the WYSIWYG interface doesn't work (aka, you see bbcode instead of actual text changes).
C. Extensions in Chrome are incredibly limited in what they are able to do with the browser, meaning I cannot get popular things like Tab Mix Plus for it.
D. On top of the lack of Tab Mix Plus, the tab bar in general is horrible UI. It works great if you only have a few sites open, but if you're trying to juggle a lot of sites at once, the tab names become useless.
E. A bunch of little development annoyances. While chrome is able to use the wonderful inspector, inspector is all you get. It's incredibly annoying to have to open up the inspector AND turn on resource watching just to find out what the resolution an image is!

For that reason, Chrome lost its appeal quickly with me, and I'm back with Firefox.

Deadman Greasemonkey scripts work natively in Chrome now. :D Just click and install.

You don't need Greasemetal anymore (I think that was a hack anyway, and it wasn't by Google).

And yes I made a popular extension yay! :D

I now love Chrome because I discovered that it detects search functionality when you use it on a site for the first time. Now whenever you partially type the URL (enough so that the first guess is the correct one) and hit tab, you get a search box for that site.

You can right click the address bar, choose Edit Search Engines, and setup keywords for your most used searches.
