Titan Quest Gold Pack - 4.99 Steam

I've heard that Titan Quest is a pretty good Diablo clone type of game. I very much enjoyed Diablo I and II, and I was wondering if TQ is worth it for the co-op experience. Also, I'm wondering if anyone has it with modern systems and if there are any problems I should be aware of. I don't want to buy a game that will not function properly.

[Edit] The Gold Pack includes both the original game as well as the expansion "Immortal Throne".

It is only worth it if it also includes the expansion pack. The expansion (among many other things) allows for a much better storage system and a button that can rearrange your inventory, without that button carrying items is a much bigger pain in the ***.
I'd also recommend looking into mods, there's all sorts of nice little tweak mods, like one that makes for better potion stacking.

But as more of answer to your question: it is a rather good game. It's an unashamed Diablo rip-off, but it does it quite well.
The character progression is made more interesting by the fact that you don't have one class, but two. You can of course, spend all your skill points in just the one class, but typically you end up selecting a second one that benefits your main choice.
Also I love the fact that enemies drop what they are carrying. Meaning you don't go killing a bunch of archers and expect a magic sword to drop, and if there's a guy hitting you with his weapon and it keeps poisoning and freezing you, then you know what kind of thing to expect when you kill him.

Also, I recently started playing again with a friend, I'm using a brand new pc with windows 7 and it runs perfectly. Just as it does on her windows xp machine.

Sounds great, just a few more questions then. Is there some sort of linear story to the game or is it more like randomized levels in the Diablo series? Also, is the expansion something that you run and it also includes the original, much like LOD was for Diablo II, as well as FOC for Empire at War?

The expansion works like LOD did, adding a new class and more to the story but fully including the original game. Only thing different is that for some reason you have it in a different folder and have to run the .exe in that, but it's still the full game.
There is a definite story to it, it's not bad but like Diablos you can easily skip it (and most do) if you're impatient to get into the action.

Awesome, thanks for all the info. If you've only recently just started my brother and I may purchase the game and maybe we can join up with you guys. Same goes for any other Massassians who may want to play. It looks like the game can handle up to 6 players cooperatively at a time.

Ah the one we started playing is a TC (total conversion mod) so that won't work, but I'd be up for making a character in the normal game to join you guys =]

I've wasted a stupid amount of time on this already. My Harbinger rocks.
