Mad is a loose term and making a mockery of the intracacies of leaving a job. Why is it making you mad? Is it wreaking havoc on your conscience? Would quitting allow you to grow as a person? Are you quitting for immature reasons?
Once again, this vastly depends on the situation. I'm not going to stand here on a soapbox and say that you should always make an attempt to save a friendship, because that's just not true. You have no idea of the various situations and personalities out there and the dynamics between them to make a blanket judgement about this.
There is a balance between cutting things out externally and adjusting yourself internally to deal with unpleasantries. Both are necessary.
