In the past two weeks I've dropped mine after ramming it against the underside of a table by accident and knocking it out of my hand and spilled milk in the keyboard and it still runs like nothing happened :awesome:

In order to make this thread not become pointless personal livejournal post, post your own stories about durable hardware (not necessarily computers) OR your favorite computers (not necessarily hardware-related)

True story: One time I dropped a glass cup on a tile floor and it didn't break. To this day, I still drink out of it.

Nokia 3510. You could throw that thing around and it wouldn't have a scratch.

We use a number of "ultra small" Thinkcentre workstations at the office. The A51 model, IIRC.
In late 2005, one of them was running on a mobile cart in the chem lab, when someone tried to move the cart. The workstation was plugged in and was yanked violently off the cart. It fell 4 feet and landed on a concrete floor on its corner. The machine was on and running when this happened. It hit so hard it chipped the floor.
I started using it as a secondary workstation after that. It's been over 4 years and it's still running strong, with perfect uptime.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

I just bought a new Lenovo laptop, a Y550P. Two months in, and the thing is :awesomelon:.

Thinkpads are great until you have to open them up & work on them. They're a nightmare to repair (although not quite as bad as some of the old Apple laptops). However, they must be decent because I didn't have to work on very many of them in comparison to other manufacturers.

On a side note, I've discovered that I'm not quite as durable as I used to be. My entire body aches & I think I may be getting old...
? :)

I watched my friend drop a glass bong from 4 feet above the ground, didn't break.
