No, but they're getting pretty good at convincing people that they do. They conveniently forget to mention that their concept of a "strong national defense" actually means that they'll have a vast number of government employees in the form of a military. Republicans are generally defined by their support of "free markets" (anti-regulation), "strict constructionism" (a fundamentalist (imagine that) view of the constitution), "strong national defense" (despite the fact that they were once against the idea of being involved in "foreign entanglements") & they're generally "skeptical" (many would argue disingenuously) of science that negates their political (e.g. global warming) & religious (e.g. evolution) ideology.
Note: Not all Republicans are/were religious (many would argue that many of our forefathers (as well as current politicians) are/were "Deists" or "skeptics" (possibly even agnostic/atheist) but that it's quite likely that they are/were forced to pander to the religious) but they're currently overwhelmingly Christian, despite the fact that many of their political "principles" could be argued to be contrary to Christian ideology (e.g. Psalm 41:1, 2 &/or 1 Timothy 6:17, 18).
