hey guy, I have recently been working on a saber, so far so good right? but heres the problem : no matter what way blade1 is positioned, it NEVER seems to go straight. from -90 to absurd numbers of degree's, the saber NEVER seems to come out the tip properly :/ any help would be appreciated.

what do you mean by the chrome? if you mean shader, how could that cause problems with the positioning of the saber :/

I only mean to say that our realities are currently misaligned. However temporarily, but the fact remains.

Sorry new guy, just be patient until someone comes along that can help you. In the meantime, give some background as to what exactly you're doing, for what game, and using what tools.

Game : Jedi Knight : Jedi Academy
Tools : Milkshape 3d for the hilt, and GIMP for the jpg. ( used a .qc upon creation of saber )

What exactly Im doing : I HAVE made a really awesome hilt, the only setback is saber going in the completely wrong way, the only problem I can think of is the blade1, which moves, but wont seem to go the right way...

So let me get this straight, your saber goes like this:

But you want your saber like this:

I used to have this same problem when making sabers. I can't remember how I fixed it, unfortunately. I think you can get around it by editing the configuration file.... But I'm not sure. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

If anything, it's probably an issue regarding tags. When importing a model into JA/JO, you need appropriate indication of where the effects and such are coming out of when doing the models. My suggestion would be open an example hilt from the game (i.e. the ones that the NPCs use) and look for markers of where the saber blade will originate (usually they are triangles if I remember). Looks like the game can't find the location where the blade is so it's sticking it in some strange, default orientation.
