Really, that's exactly what I thought. I was like "IE's fine" until I tried it. omg the difference. Some prefer Opera, but I've seen it, and the ad annoys me just in SCREENSHOTS.

You don't have to tolerate the ads. Duh.

However, I prefer Firefox. And stuff. Duh.

I would if I used it. I'm not going to pay ANOTHER fee to be able to surf the net in peace. But that's just me.

Yeah. If you want that ad gone you have to pay like 30 bucks for the browser.

I love firefox, and I got a few of my friends converted over to it as well, except for a few. They stand by IE... and I slap them.

Detty, they're called skins. took me about 3 seconds to find a classic windows skin.

ok, I've been wondering for a while whether I'm better off with opera or firefox. I got firefox before opera, and remember preferring opera, but I'm pretty sure all the things I like can be added on to firefox. Dor's argument was 'what's the point getting all the add ons when opera comes with everything?' which makes sense, but I'm not sure how much of opera's features I actually use. I definitely need tabbed browsing, and mouse gestures, and I like having my google search box under the address bar...but apart from that, I'm not sure there's anything I actually use. The whole issue with gmail is making me seriously consider returning to firefox, so.... should I?

The skins are great, I like Noia 2.0(eXtreme), but the the best part is the tabs. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Yeah, I finally got on the FireFox bandwagon a few weeks ago and I love it as well. Nice thing about it is that the interface is nearly identical to IE so you won't go through that ackward stage of learning to use FireFox. Firefox does a hefty job of blocking pop up and active X spam that you'll forget that kind of spam even existed.

Yeah, I'm not going to pirate shareware or freeware. That's just like killing bunnies. Unless you're a pirate, what's the point?

Pirates, however, can get away with anything.

And I would prefer IE if it weren't for these things:
1) IE had better pop-up blocking. I hear even the SP2 popup blocker sucks nuggets
2) IE wasn't full of exploitable holes (activex)
3) IE had tabbed browsing
4) IE used proprietary HTML code.

I switched from IE to Firefox this summer. It really is so much better. The only problem I had was getting the google search bar where I wanted it.

What skin does everyone use? I use Noia 2.0 (eXtreme)

Its based on IE. It uses the IE rendering engine. Its vulnerable to all the bug, err, I mean, "features" in IE.

Tell your friend to wake up and smell the bacon. IE is a sinking ship, get out of its way before it takes you under with it.

My default browser is technically IE, and there's a good reason for this..

The Address bar, that's usually used for entering URLs, can be used to enter programs. Like you can type in 'charmap' and it loads up charmap, or 'cmd' to load the DOS emulation thing, or "C:" to pop up an explorer window at C:. I have an Address bar on my task bar for just this. But if I set my default browser to Firefox, it doesn't work (in fact, it tries to go to www.charmap.com or something). Because IE integrates into windows, it can tell that when I type "F:" I want to access my F drive. (The downside to this is that I can't actually use the address bar on my task bar to enter URLs, I have to load Firefox and then type the URL).

I don't suppose anyone knows of a way around this, enabling Firefox to 'catch' programs and things like IE does. I'm sure that this is far too specific a thing for there to be any existing extensions for it..
