Win98 refused to format a drive, so I went nuclear and performed a low level wipe.:suicide:
That was dumb, now it has no MBR and I can't figure out how to make a new one.
Help?

Run a drive partitioner and have it create a partition table, it should write an MBR too.

Then you'll want to create a partition and format it, obviously.

Booting from a Linux LiveCD and running gparted is probably the best way to do it.

It appears to have magically appeared after I ran a Seagate tools thing that said it failed.
Goddamn computers.

For future reference, you can rebuild the MBR with just FDISK..

From DOS you can type "fdisk /mbr" and it will write a new one.

NT machines, from recovery console type "fixboot" and hit enter, followed by "fixmbr"

EDIT: Just saw that you low level formatted the drive... At that point, you should just need to create a new partition. Again, FDISK will do it no problem.
