And Dice didn't let Valve send out preloads, so I'm stuck downloading for 5 or 6 minutes at a time.:downswords:.(

Well I wouldn't be able to get to a store until the weekend anyway, and everyone else preloads.
It's all Dices fault not mine :colbert:.

I'm playing it. It's hard to tell WHAT I'm playing because i don't have an HDTV, but I think I might be a soldier who is shooting people? Whatever it is, it is fun.

Yeah, buying a 360 led to me quickly buying an HD tv because I couldn't tell what the heck was going on.

Bad Company 2 looks good, but I haven't played the first. Maybe I'll pick that up on the cheap.
nope.

It wouldn't be so bad except the game is forced widescreen, meaning on my already small, already standard-def TV, I have black bars across the top and bottom of the screen, making my actual view area even smaller. So far i don't think it has affected any gameplay, I can still make out or at least guess at most stuff (like rough locations from the minimap, even if i can't tell what it's supposed to be other than a red smudge or a blue smudge).

Unfortunately my HDTV situation is a conundrum that results in me not having an HDTV until after this semester is over in May.

.(

I actually preordered it for PC, but it was a price mistake ($19.99) and was canceled. I refuse to pay $50 for it since I have sooo much to catch up on already.

This week's pretty busy for me, so I should be getting BC2 next week or the following. I'm getting this game solely for to multiplayer. I need me a good mp game.

If we get a large enough group of massassians with the game on the 360 we could party up and play now and then. That'd be fun.

Just got it this morning and I've been playing since online. This game is a total blast. I'd missed the Battlefield genre so much since I last played Battlefield 2. Maps are still not quite as big, but the action is just amazingly visceral and chaotic (in a good way).

Brilliant game and the destructible environments are just great to play in.

If anyone's got it on the xbox360, join me up sometime! (Gunman-Jep)

BC2 > MW2

In other news, PC apparently has more BC2 players than xbox360 and ps3 combined.
2010-03-07, 7:49 AM #15
That's because most of the PC gamers ignored MW2.

This is one of the only shooters in a while that has interested me at all, but I've been doing homework for the last week instead of fixing the pile of **** in the other room called "my new computer."

? Don't follow. I'm saying PC has more BC2 players than xbox and ps3 has BC2 players.
2010-03-07, 9:10 AM #17
Because PC players ignored MW2 and waited for BC2 due to Infinity Ward being a bunch of douchebags.

They used a Queens of the Stoneage song for the games commercial. :awesome:

Played the demo, thought it was alright. On the PS3, the ballistics seem less noticeable because the hitboxes are freaking huge. Not sure if I'm ever going to pick up the game.

This game is ****ing fantastic! I picked it up today on a whim, and I'm really glad I did. It blows MW2 out of the water in several aspects:

Realism: Weapons handle somewhat realisticly, you aren't able to sprint around the maps and knife masses of people. Recoil actually deters your aim, so you have to pick your shots carefully.

Vehicles: They're a blast! Tearing around maps in ATV's, Tanks, Choppers, and APC's is awesome! At the same time though they're not annoying in the fact that you could pretty easily disable any troublesome enemy armor. Great balance.

Maps: They actually feel like a real battlefield, the Rush gamemode definitely contributes to this. They aren't the same old repetitive Modern Warefare 2 Arena-Style maps. Not to mention the destructable buildings and cover. Makes for a very dynamic battlefield.

If you like FPS shooters, you are really missing out if you dont atleast try this game.

Oh it actually works after 5 minutes? Usually when games stop loading for me, I'll call it a night for Battlefield and move on back to designing levels for Little Big Planet.

Tibby/ELITE I'm playing on the 360. I've read articles about how EA were having problems with their servers over the weekend (all platforms) due to unexpected popularity. I'm sure its been/being ironed out as we speak. Haven't had a chance to play this week yet beyond monday.

ELITE, if you don't already have me added, you're welcome to add Gunman Jep to your friendlist! Then we can kick the ****, shoot some folk and be big damn heroes on the battlefield.

I love this game. The other night I sniped the pilot out of a helicopter as it flew by me. Talk about satisfying...

I can't snipe worth **** on the 360. When I find a good place to snipe, I see few people, and by the time I see people, another sniper gets me first. So yea, I'm not a good recon player.

I make a great medic though, I think.

I'm not that good a sniper either, but every once in a while I will set up in just the right spot at just the right time and really tear it up. I also love to be a medic, especially when we're attacking and I don't see anyone else reviving.

One of my favorite things to do is on a map like Nelson Bay, while attacking I will find some cover, set down an ammo pack, and just plaster some of the main buildings and roads with smoke grenades. So far it has worked pretty well in certain spots to get the attacking squads right up into the building.

I've actually not played much Rush, focusing almost solely on Conquest mode because that's what I'm most familiar with from BF2 days. I really should try out rush.

In Conquest mode, I'm love White Pass map best. Followed by the desert one. I ****ing HATE the shipyard one.

I always let it choose either one and I usually end up playing rush. White pass is great, though. Isla Inocentes is one of my least favorites, it's so hard for the attacking team, even with the helicopters. As far as conquest goes, like I said, I haven't gotten to play it too much, but I kind of like Laguna Presa. I always have fun on that one.

Overall my abilities are just not steady. One day I'll play brilliantly, sneak up alone on a flag guarded by 4-5 guys and gun them all down. Or keep my entire squad alive with health and reviving. Other days I'll constantly die without getting a shot off or healing anyone.

I've always known I'm not a great multiplayer gamer, and this game really reminds me brutally, from time to time. XD Still I'm loving it. I'm fighting off a Battlefield addiction and a Little Big Planet Level Building obsession. God help me.

I think it has a lot to with how team-based the game is. Even if your skill is decent, if the rest of your team sucks and/or the enemy team is good, you're screwed. I mean, you can be the best medic there is, but if your team's snipers aren't holding back the OTHER team's snipers, you're going to die every time you step out of cover. If your team's AT guys aren't doing their jobs, you're going to get blown to hell every time you step out of cover (and often you don't have to step out to get blown away).

True enough. That reminds me of monday's games. Basically, it went like this : Game starts, people rush for the flags. Enemy team would start killing us and charge straight for our Deployment Center with tanks, helicopters, snipers. Four games in a row turned into basic spawn camping matches. I didn't really mind, overall, but I just hope this doesn't become the only way Conquest goes. Of course, this might have been a good, organized clan versus a ragtag bunch of nooblings. Highly likely, since not everyone on a team can suddenly decide to rush the enemy spawn point each match.
