Yes I used search before someone complains

this is my favorite game of all time, tried to play it

get through the intro then it crashes with the classic "JK.exe has stopped working"

I've tried several fixes in the compatability options, and the -windowgui thing

any advice pleeassee?

Right-click the shortcut.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Place a check in the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
Select 'Windows 98 / Windows Me' from the drop-down list.
Under settings, make sure there are checks in the boxes next to 'Disable visual themes', 'Disable desktop composition', & 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings'.

Click OK to commit the changes.

Let us know if that helps or not.

I know I am going to sound like a pest here but--

are you SURE you did the -windowgui fix properly? The only reason I ask is because that is the exact crash you get before the fix.

The only other thing I can think of offhand is maybe you forgot to copy or misplaced something when you installed the game manually?

Jedi.EXE is the launcher, JK.EXE is the game itself.
