Pommy's Poll #63: Fast Food
2010-03-11, 5:17 PM #1
*I guess I should have written hamburger fast food restaurant... although feel free to pick "Other" for places like Taco Bell

I realize that due to being American I may have omitted non-American fast foods, so please select other and post if relevant

I also realize that some choices (like (In-N-Out) are regional, so rather than specifying them and risk omitting others, "regional" is grouped into one category

Other, assuming the chippie down the road counts.

Eh, I'm not really a fan of Burger King burgers, except that really spicy huge one they did once.

McDonalds is a guilty pleasure.

Favorite - Regional - Five Guy's
Usually Wendy's or Taco Bell on the road, though. Spicy Chicken Sandwich is awesome.

Sonic is mostly regional to texas. As far as I understand they dominate in the South.

On a recent trip to Chicago from Baltimore, there wasn't a single sonic within 60 miles of our route.

Whataburger and In N Out are both amazing. I hear good things about Culver's but I haven't tried it. I also hear Carl's Junior is awesome.

EDIT: Carl's Junior also wins for having the greatest tag line ever (in the alternate future of Idiocracy)

If you're talking mainstream, nationwide fast food, then Arby's. If you want something more regional, FIVE GUYS is amazing.

Arby's is only good to me if I'm drunk.

I don't know what that substance is that they claim to be roast beef, but it's tasty... same goes for the cheese. I don't know what it is, but it's not cheese.

I have never eaten at a fast food restaurant and went "That was good and worth my money" besides Quiznos and Subway as if putting lunch meat on bread can be ****ed up in any way. Erberts and Gerberts is the regional Sub shop and I'm literally eating the other half of one I ordered for lunch at work today.

If I get a choice but I have to choose a burger joint, I'll go with Wendy's or Arby's.

However I recently stopped going out to eat anywhere after seeing gross things happen at an Applebees. I'm developing a somewhat irrational fear.

From your list, Wendy's is the best but it's not so common. For regional it's Harvey's (Canada).

Five guys is fantastic but I still think In-N-Out is slightly better

Five guys fills you up more but there's SO MUCH OF IT you feel sick afterwards

I try really hard to only eat at local business establishments for various economic & environmental reasons. However, I'll occasionally go to Qdoba, Quiznos or Subway on those very rare occasions that I don't have time to sit down & have a decent casual meal. I've been to a few of the fast-food restaurants that were mentioned in the poll but I care too much about my health to eat at them often enough to have a favorite or to have any real familiarity w/ their menus. When I would travel for work I would often be forced to eat at fast-food restaurants & I would usually get a salad.
? :)

I'm not sure if its considered fast food, but I particularly adore the Sushi Shop franchise. Great sushi.

If I had to pick an actual fast food chain, it would have to be A&W, who's burgers and onion rings are simply delicious. Too bad I've sworn off eating fast food until I've lost 30 lbs.

Carl's Jr. has by far the best burgers of any of the above listed.

Hmm, McDonalds, but not because I like it, because most of my friends like it. And I like the McKroket...

Sonic and/or Chick-fil-A.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

uhhh, wendy's is only in the US and Canada, and Jack in the box is only in 18 states in the US.

Though, other than local privately run fast food shops, I would have to say that in Australia, McDonalds has some of the best burgers.

I've been told that McDonalds in north america is atrocious compared to other McDonalds elsewhere, so I hate to think how bad it is.

That said I actually really like a cheap, bad quality burger. :P

Rally's. which in other areas is known as Checkers. BBQ bacon cheeseburger and seasoned fries FTMFW!

but yeah, if it wasnt for rally's, my perfect fast food place would have McD burgers and Wendy's fries.
