An album remixing every song from the Donkey Kong Country 2 SNES game, this album is a milestone for the OCRemix community, as it is the first time in the site's history that an original game composer has created a remix for one of their games. David Wise, the original composer for DKC2, has remixed an amazing rendition of the "Donkey Kong Rescued" song.

Of course, that isn't all, the album in its entirety is an amazing work of musical art, and the album art is absolutely :awesome:

Check it out, grab the torrent for the full album in FLAC and MP3.

I'm not usually a fan of remixes. I like remixes on principle, but I almost always find that the remixes tend to lose whatever hard-to-pin-down quality I loved about the music in the first place (at least without offering some new hard-to-pin-down quality I can fall in love with instead). I also happen to like the "low-quality" music they used for older games too, which may be part of the reason.

With that said, however, I'll have to look into this. I loved the DKC/DKC2 soundtrack, so maybe there'll at least be some remixed tracks I like on this.

You'd probably be interested in chiptune remixes then, Gebohq. I'm not done listening to the whole DKC2 soundtrack, but there's a LOT of variation, so there's probably a good chance you'd like something.

Cool. I'm a fan of these remixes. They have some really cool Final Fantasy ones.

They need to make one for the Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest boss battle that doesn't suck, though. :P

I prefer the originals. DK2 was one of my favourite games growing up. The music in the mine is incredible.

DK2 was not only one of my favorite games (still is) but is my favorite soundtrack too.
There are some excellent remixes in there, some remixes such as Forest Interlude have been done better on OC Remix by other composers but all in all quite a great album.

The remix for Stickerbrush Symphony was excellent. Being my favorite song in the soundtrack I was going to be most skeptical of this one. I thought it was great, reminded me of a remix the Rippingtons might do, I mean that in a good way.

The Chase is Haunted is awesome if you enjoy metal. (especially the lamb of god shoutout at 1:40)

I definitely didn't care for the vocal versions of any of the songs. Except for Monkies Disarm the Kremlings, that was just badass.

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found.

This explains why so many DKC2 remixes just came out on the OCRemix feed, at least.

I've been listening to this all day, and I like it a lot.

DKC2 is most definitely one of my favorite games from my childhood.
