be more awesome and suit up are both good options.

Draw a picture - you're artistic
Write a song - you're musical
Do some sport - you're not obese
Have a shower - you dont stink like sh**

All good reasons why you can be better than other people, and hence not feel down.

I go in to the forest & I don't come out until I'm either cured or dead. There's something about surrounding myself w/ nature that makesmy worries seem insignificant. It's a rather good feeling. Otherwise, like w/ most of our species, it's generally good to speak w/ close family or friends.

try very hard to just carry on with normal activities. My old habit of withdrawing in to myself, not leaving the house for days etc... that's how you turn mild blues in to depression

Mentat, that sounds perfect. I don't have any forests nearby, but I find that going to the beach and just staring at the sea for a while has a similar effect

I don't suffer from 'temporary' bouts, but as soon as I find something that fixes it, I'll let you know.

Going for a walk in the daytime will cure pretty much anyone of a bout of mild melancholy.
Bananas also help.

That requires money. Your method equates money with happiness!

Actually, money CAN buy you happiness. You just have to spend money on experiences instead of possessions.

Riding motorcycles.

Going to Applebee's and getting a Brewtus burger. Crapplebee's sucks for for the most part, but damn, that Brewtus burger is tasty!

I like a walk in the late afternoon, just after the sun has gone down.
The contrast and hues of the sky, the street lights, the quiet. All amazing.
