What I always wondered was what goes on once its gone through.

Is he already unconcious, or does he have a moment when he realises what just happened.

I know Echoman's statement was a joke, but since he was stabbed in the brain. What was he thinking moments before the stabbing, and what was he thinking shortly after the stabbing? What happens to your stream of consciousness during a brain-stabbing?
