If you could be good friends with any celebrity, who would it be?

Viggo Mortensen seems like the coolest dude on the planet. Great actor, seems like a great guy. Same is true with Johnny Depp, although slightly less so. I don't have any active desire to be friends with any of these people though, they're just celebrities who seem cool. Being friends with them wouldn't be any better than being friends with equally cool, less-well-known people.

Neil Patrick Harris.

nope.

Amy Sedaris. Proving women can be hilarious since as long as I can remember seeing her in places. Her brother seems awesome too.

Also Christina Hendricks only because I like staring at boobs as it is, so every time I met up with her I would get a staring-at-boobs fix that would last me at least two or (pushing it) three days.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I could probably get a lot more out of a conversation with someone like Patrick Stewart than I could with most other celebrities.

I don't know, it could get awkward when he asks to borrow money.

Her husband isn't actually a prince, apparently. His dad was a prince though.

We're not talking about Al Pacino here. Nic Cage still makes a crapload of money for each film he's in, and he's in like 3 movies a year.

As long as he stopped buying castles and stuff we should be fine. There really should be some sort of clause, or maybe there is, that if you make millions of dollars after bankruptcy you have to go back and settle bankrupted debt.

I don't think he ever actually filed for bankruptcy. He was close, but he sold a bunch of his homes and the two castles I guess and that got him out of it.

Dude owned like 40-some houses or something. Maybe it's something in the Coppola family that causes you to be extremely irresponsible with spending.

At any rate, this is a reason to want to hang out with him. The dude spends money like nobody else in Hollywood.

George Lucas. I would randomly steal his glasses just to hear him go "Nooo you took away my vision! You will now give it back, because the kids love it."

"I will now give it back" I would then confirm, only later wondering why I ended up giving it back when I didn't really want to.

As for me, Warren Ellis.

Most famous for Transmetropolitan, author and a bunch of other unforgettable graphic novels (Orbital, Lazarus Churchyard, Global Frequency, etc. etc). But for GOD'S sake don't go to his official site / blog and click on links. Because if you do - you've been warned.

I'd like to be friends with a lot of c-list celebrities who used to be a listers or almost a listers.

Like Van Damme, Seagal, Wesley Snipes, Swayze would have been awesome. Gary Busey too. People like that would be awesome to hang out with.
