Winner.

Best line: "No one sets out to make a train wreck. Actually, comparing it to a train wreck isn't really fair to train wrecks, because people actually want to watch those."

Good man, although he does cover his ass at the end.
"My script was very, VERY different than what ended up on the screen. My screenplay was darker, grittier and had a very compelling story with rich characters. What my screenplay didn't have was slow motion at every turn, Dutch tilts, campy dialog, aliens in KISS boots, and everyone wearing Bob Marley wigs.

I read this the other day. I love that the general reason for why he wrote it was he was trying to get pussy from some Scientologist chick and ended up being introduced to John Travolta.

As horrible as the movie was, at least it was better than the book. It didn't go on for hours/pages upon hours/pages about Terl's plotting (didn't care about it) and the movie ended where the story should have, not with some intergalactic bankers made up of shark people come to try and buy the planet off afterwards. Also, most of the plot points made in this video review apply to the book too IMO.

I liked the movie. I didn't like the book. The movie could have been a lot better, sure, but it was entertaining. (despite the ski boots)
