May possibly be one of the greatest games I have yet to play. A few multicore gliches aside, I have been throughly enjoying this game in my spare time.

The humor is absolutely fantastic. Specifically the stranded shuttle scene:

On a sidenote, I think the little robot from borderlands is a direct ripoff of PAL, or a homage, either way.

Great game, shame it was never finished.

Watch the whole game as a cinematic movie machinima, made by the game's original producer. Pretty entertaining!

That's one of my all time favorites.

Do you know what the difference between the you now, and the you five minutes ago is? The you five minutes ago had five minutes to live.

Hey Sly, we need to go here. No, we need to go here.
Pal (the robot, upset that Sly just killed killer evil robots): Or you could repent you cold blooded killer.

I could spend all day thinking of quotes, it's been so long since I've played.

Gnash them snappers, kid; I got a sock that eats like a meal. This putrid, unwashed, puss-soaked, blood-crusted sock was fermenting around a gangrenous stump of a foot for eight and half months. This is the chewiest, smelliest sock you'll ever have the luck to nosh on. And you're just a short Q&A away from suckin' this baby dry!
I'm just a little boy.

I never finished the game originally (but got pretty far in), tried replaying it last year, but the game kept glitching out at one of the elevators on the first planet. Tried every fix I could, but then gave up. Maybe I'll try one more time under Win 7.

TBH, I don't remember. But if I do decide to play through it again, thank for the heads up!

I enjoyed it for a while but never finished it. The environments and story were pretty cool. I thought it was cool what they did with the quake engine (turn it into an RPG). I remember feeling like I needed to level up before moving on, but that there was a lack of side quests or other areas where I could go to kill bad guys and gain xp. It was a long time ago, though.

THe big problem with Anachronox is that the actual RPG content is really bad (dungeons, levelling, etc.). I recall the Hepheastus church monastery and lava cave place as being infuriating mazes. Also the objective screen hardly keeps track of any of your objectives so if you want to do any side-quests you just have to remember them. Pretty irritating. One of the other problems is that the game expects you to revisit some of the levels when you unlock new party members. For example, one of Paco's skills is on Hepeastus so if you were to stumble upon that without him in your party you would have to go all the way back to the lounge of commerce to change it up.

Still one of the top three games I've ever played.

They are essential to progressing in the game with multicore systems. For example the speed up patch being used when you follow the Guy from the pawn shop.

I also liked how the vending machine company was called 'Asnachronox'.

Man, Video Games lost something special when it started being about money. Don't get me wrong I love me some gigantic AAA titles, but I miss installers that had "Register" "Leave me alone" "Bug me every 3 days". And that said "Please?" afterwards.

Yep, that's where I had the problem after re-install!

The first time I played I gave up on the lava maze on the monastery planet. I think...

When following Lucko you need to hold down the \ key during the level transition.

Yeah, you hold it down just as you transition from area to area, staying s close to him as possible and release when you are in the next area. The elevator was the most difficult. When you do this at the grav path area, you need to get to the point where you almost pass him JUST as he starts walking down the grav path before he disappears.

I'm not sure I could do that part again if I wanted to. It was very difficult/frustrating to figure out.

Ah, Anachronox... it's been on my "to play" list since 2005.

Hell, I even got the original boxed version from Canada in 2007. Durf.
