Need Some Post-Graduation Advice

I need some advice on what to do after I get my degree. I'll be done after May 8, and I'm not sure what to do after that.

I suppose I have a few options. I could go back home and try to find work there. However, there are fewer jobs in my field in the area, so I'm a little apprehensive about doing so. This is probably my least favorite option.

I could also stay in the same city I'm in now for school. The job market is a bit better, but still not great. Many of my friends will either be moving outside of town or completely out of the area, so I'll be more or less on my own to keep myself entertained. Also, I don't really like the idea of being locked into a lease if I can't find work.

My last option is the least likely to happen. I could just up and move elsewhere. There are definitely better opportunities elsewhere, but I'm not real sure which way to go or anything.

Do you guys who have gotten your degrees have any advice? Or possibly even stories on what you chose to do?

Um, usually you try to get a job before graduating.

I'm working on it, however jobs for new graduates in IT or MIS are fairly hard to come by in West Virginia.

I'd say up and move. If you spend 50 or 60 hours a week networking, applying for jobs, interviewing, hanging out in the same places that the community hangs out in, and developing your own private projects you should be good in a month or so. Maybe ask for a parent-loan if you don't have enough to sustain you, and then WORK YOUR BUTT OFF when you move in.

Baltimore has a really booming tech community. It's really growing, and over the next few years it'll be EXPLODING.

That is one of the big problems. I have little money to be able to move, my parents don't have it to loan, and I also have no vehicle.
