I had dual monitors set up through windows XP. All was fine and dandy. My secondary monitor was too bright and it's brightness was at zero, so I started clicking around in the nVidia control panel to see if I could darken the secondary monitor somehow. I clicked "Set Up Multiple Displays" and started the wizard, did a "test" run where it shows you the new settings for 15 seconds. I cancelled this and closed the wizard, not choosing to save any settings.

Now everything on my primary monitor is vibrating like crazy. Thats the only way I can describe it. It's impossible to read and everything is creating a fuzzy effect. I can barely read this text. Help!

Restart the monitor? I get artifacts on my monitor that for some reason go away when toggling the power.

Ok, I set the color depth in nVidia Control Panel to 16 bit and it fixed the problem. I feel that this may be a band-aid because it wasn't like this before.

However, my windows settings still say my color depth is 32 bit.

Who do I believe?

They're both lying, the real colour is 24 bit :colbert:

I had this 'horizontal shifting of pixels' too once, did you try to lower the brightness (maybe stuff is overheating), and hell, sorry for stating the obvious, but do you have a stable driver release?

off topic: Set it to R24X8, high-definition grayscale

Maybe you have it set to an incorrect refresh rate? You could also try uninstalling the monitor in Device Manager and restarting.

Have you tried using goggles?

The refresh rate on your eyeballs isn't working.
