Evochron Legends (space combat / trading sim)

I remember there recently was some discussion where I've mentioned the X3 series. I've just stumbled on a game called "Evochron Legends." I couldn't find a review of the indie game on major networks such as IGN/GameSpot, but there's a brief write-up on Gamers With Jobs.

Has anyone here played this game? Is it any good? More specifically, how good is it compared to X3: Terran Frontier (I'm thinking of buying a space sim, and chances are it would be either that or EL).

The fact that you can apparently go into planetary atmosphere w/o a load screen certainly gives EL some bonus points.

Also, holy kak at X3: Reunion review. I wonder if she wrote the material. :)

No? No-one here heard of this game? Shame. Everyone still should check out the vid I've linked to in my second post, irregardless of whether you like space sims or not. :)

Huh, this looks really neat. Trying it out now that I'm off work.

Let us know what you think. I'm considering playing this game but would like some additional input from others you have played it before I take the time to do so myself.

I got into it a little, but then for whatever reason I lost the saves, and **** me if I'm doing that boring ass tutorial again.

Played through the EL demo tutorial for a bit, it's like freaking MS Flight Simulator in space (as in, I'm not sure I like to have to keep so many tabs on what's going on).
