I have a question. Ok, 2 questions.

Does the MP side of those games contain any profanity? While I'm thinking about it, what about gore?

Next week our students take state mandated tests all morning and then have nothing to do in the afternoons. I thought it would be fun to take about 30 kids and do a tournament one afternoon. I can hook up an Xbox360 or PS3 to my classroom projector and have a nice big screen.

I'm 99% sure my administrator is cool with the idea AS LONG AS there's no profanity spewing forth from the game (I'm thinking "Rated G") and there's no gore.

Anybody know?

You can always try and come up with a "fallback" idea.

Never played much Halo MP and never owned 3, but AFAIK it shouldn't have any language and gore. Nobody talks in MP anyways, and you don't gib. At least not in 2.

You can always Youtube Search for videos to see for yourself btw. :P

Nobody talks in MP?

No, not in my experience. 75% of the room talks and all the 13 year olds have the foulest mouths.

I've played hundreds of games of each, but I can't remember if CoD has language in it, I'm pretty sure both are clean though. But gore, yes.

There's likely swearing in COD Modern Warfare 2 MP. There's no gore, but there's definitely lots of blood.

Note that I am not counting voice chat. If you count voice chat, then yes, both have gratuitous amounts of swearing.

Can't you just turn the voice off?

Sure you can turn off other players by turning the voice volume all the way down. But I don't think in-game voices, if they cuss.

I don't know if MW2 has profanity in MP. CoD:WaW does.

I'm assuming they're not playing on Xbox Live, since Xbox Live has very high levels of profanity.

In MW2, at least on the PS3 version, only money comes out when you shoot someone.

I've always wondered why money comes out in MW2.

Oh yeah, shooting people is fine, but there'd BETTER BE NO FOUL LANGUAGE!

Only if it's a revenge kill (aka Payback, hence the money)

If they are playing against each other, the only profanity will come from their own mouths.

Is there swearing in Halo online?

As far as profanity goes, BC2 is a pretty funny case. It automatically filters out swear words in the chat, but there are a bunch of in game sound effects that contain f*** which you can't disable.
