The Man Who Sold The World - original or Nirvana live cover?

So I was listening to music and thinking, which do you think is better, anyway?? (Or do you perhaps have a third version that you prefer?)

Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I prefer the original by David Bowie. I grew up listening to Nirvana but grew away/out of their music & can now barely tolerate them. I also think that David Bowie's music is much more timeless. For me, Nirvana already sounds really dated & annoying.
? :)

Bowie, but it's always been pretty much my least favourite Bowie song ever. And that includes everything by Tin Machine.
nope.

I sure as hell think that Kurt did a far better Job than Bowie, there is more feeling put into it. Maybe the Grunge thing may be out dated for you young guys, but awkwardly enough as this sounds I grew up in the 80's when bowie was probably more popular. Sorry, but I have never really cared for Bowie.

Didn't know it was a cover! I'm completely unimpressed with the original...but I never was much of a bowie fan.

I don't really see how this is relevant. :P

Especially seeing as the song is from the early 70s.
nope.

Cobain & Co!

Some other covers that are better than the originals:

Ozone - Foo Fighters (original by Ace Frehley)
Highway '61 Revisited - PJ Harvey (original by Bob Dylan) Really awesome rendition.

I was ready to smite you for this (it's freaking Bob Dylan!) but I listened on Spotify and it was actually quite good!

Yeah, the rhythm arrangement is killer. The beginning is a little weird but...

Fantastic drumming and beautifully recorded by none other than Steve Albini.

That whole album is awesome by the way. (Rid of Me)

Also, I got a live version that's all electric from 'Man who sold the world' by Nirvana. It's on the 'Outcesticide II' bootleg. Even better than the Unplugged version if you ask me.
