There is only ONE cool thing to see in Baltimore.

The Constellation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Constellation_(1854)

So do that LAST.

You should also check out DuClaw brewery. I know theres one in I think Annapolis Mall? I don't know what its called anymore.

And if you want to get some ****ing COOL JUNK check out Crazy Ray's Salvage Yard in Curtis Bay.

A lot of Massassi live in the Baltimore area or something? I'm like 15 miles away from Baltimore.
2010-04-16, 5:15 PM #7
There were like 5 of us.

Heeb, Geb, Sugarless, Mirthy, myself, and I think a few others.

I moved though, because Maryland sucks.

May 2 is my sister's birthday, so I probably won't be able to do anything. I can point you to some cool places though, I'm not a downer like Rob.

Man, a lot of hate from you and Rob - I love Maryland! Of course, like everywhere else, it's going to depend on where in MD you are and who you're with.

Mirthy doesn't live in MD - she just went to college with me.

Is heeb still around? I don't remember seeing him in forever. Oh and since someone stood me up last time, someone better be there! :XD:

I'm the only one here that actually lives IN baltimore. There's some really bad areas, the areas as seen in The Wire, but most of Baltimore is pretty nice.

I live close enough and also have a close friend I visit often who lives in Baltimore City. Pretty much what fish said. One of the things I love about Baltimore is a sort of quirky, campy, low-cost, honest aesthetic. Granted, it's easily gentrified by yuppies into something worse, but it's almost a polar opposite to the vibe that I got from Annapolis. For instance, I went to the Transmodern Art Festival last Friday, and it was pretty fun and captured a lot of what I feel is the Baltimore aesthetic.

I think I'm in an episode of the wire. Or whatever show they were doing around the mid nineties.

They did a shoot at the church of our private school while we were at recess.

Baltimore really is that bad if you wander off the downtown yuppie map. An ever changing grid map of places you might not get stabbed unless you go one block over.

BS, bay crab yields have been pretty low.

Stop eating the crab. They used to be three times the size, FOR A REASON.

Recently moved down here in the Arundel Mills Mall area back on January 8th due to a job. Otherwise, I lived in a small town in Pennsylvania all my life.

Have to admit. I don't like the drivers down here. For some reason, not too many people like to use their turn signals. Precipitation also can make them go crazy. One time I saw a guy flick this other guy off because he wasn't going fast enough on 295 (the guy was already going like 5 mph over the speed limit). Yeah, somehow the people here don't seem too friendly either. Acquiring a concealed weapon permit in Maryland also seems almost impossible with the requirements I read about.

Meeting people from a message board who I don't know too well....maybe -depends on how many people, where in Baltimore (personally don't like driving through all the city traffic), and what will be done.

Was he in the left lane?

The left lane is for HAULING ASS. If you aren't HAULING ASS stay out of the ****ing left lane.
2010-04-19, 6:50 PM #32
Don't haul ass in Maryland. In VA, the state troopers go 85 on the interstate. In PA, they pull you over for going too slow. In MD, they lower speed limits so they can get more ticket revenue.

I think it's to pay for the excessive number of road signs.

Also, if you're in the left lane, and someone comes up behind you, MERGE RIGHT *******.

KEEP RIGHT, PASS LEFT.
2010-04-19, 7:00 PM #33
no, VA cops are dicks about speeding, but in MD, I regularly speed and I've only gotten one ticket. Since that was for going 87 in a 55, I think that's pretty fair :P

But yes, if you're in the left lane, haul ass. If you're not hauling ass, just merge right when someone comes up behind you

Yeah the guy was in the left lane. This was on 295 too, which can usually get pretty chaotic. I try to never go over 65 over 55. Still, I do think some people get a bit too angry over the wheels, but that's just me. I have never felt road rage.

You should be pretty safe, since I'm a ghost (I got murdered on my first Massassian meetup-trip). :awesome:
woot!
2010-04-20, 2:44 PM #36
Indeed. Are you stopping bye to fetch your bones this time?
2010-04-20, 3:33 PM #37
Also, if I'm hauling a serious amount of ass and I'm passing a huge line of cars, don't ride my ass.

I'll slow down. Then when we pass the cars I'll speed up so you can't get around me. I have no sympathy for ass-riders.
2010-04-20, 3:34 PM #38
Congratulations, you make the roads a little more dangerous.
2010-04-20, 3:43 PM #39
Watching people road rage is hilarious.

But no really. If I'm doing 85 in a 55 do you REALLY have a reason to ride my ass? I don't do it often. I kind of hang out in the right lanes unless I'm in a serious ass rush which is only about 10% of the time I'm driving because I get my best fuel economy at about 65mph. I don't duck in and out of lanes, or do the three lanes at once lane change EVER.

If you need to do this to satisfy your urge to get one over on a 30 year old pickup truck you have a serious road rage problem.
2010-04-20, 3:47 PM #40
None of that changes the fact the absolute safest thing you can do is get the **** out of his way.
