Um, just e-mail general support?

I've e-mailed them numerous times for petty requests like deauthorizing computers after forgetting to do so manually before a format, and for redownloading mp3s. They always have let me

iTunes -> Store Menu -> Authorize Account (if you haven't) -> Check for Available downloads.

This should work.

That doesn't really work. All that option seems to do is check to see if you bought something but never downloaded it. I just ran it on a computer with iTunes installed, but none of the like 10 songs I've ever bought on iTunes on it. Ran it and it didn't download anything.

This is the common misconception that people seem to think will recover your songs. All it is is a feature that allows you to download something if yours was interrupted by your internet going out or something.

Oh, hm. I recovered a video I downloaded this way... so that's dumb.

That's also the method you use to download the music once you beg Apple to allow it, I believe.

Yeah, they probably just dump all of your previously purchased songs back into whatever "purchased but not yet downloaded" list that feature uses.

I've heard that Apple will allow a ONE-TIME re-download of past purchases for such reasons. I'd contact customer support and see if they'll swing that for you.

I called Apple, got a person on the phone instantly, and after about 5 minutes on hold while the person talked to iTunes, they said I could redownload all 300 of my songs. Awesome.

Didn't expect it to be so easy with Apple.

I don't get it. Why is it ONE TIME only? What's to stop you from copying the songs once you've downloaded them?

He means downloading from iTunes. Usually if you fail at backups, like me. :suicide:

I had several free songs I got in a promo, I just redownloaded them FROM THE INTERNET instead, har har.
