Interesting LEGO toy find
2010-04-20, 8:24 PM #1
I was wandering through a ToysRus today and found this. I always think it's neat when I see a Star Wars toy from one of the many classic games.

Average cost per piece of 16.5 cents. Booo.

TIE Defenders are goshdamn awesome, though.

Yeah, I don't buy legos. Ridiculously expensive.

!!!

I'm buying this, even if it means I can't eat out for a month...

The Defender was always my favorite fighter.

When I was a kid I made the best TIE Fighters and Interceptors from scratch. They were designed to be weak in the middle, so if you squeezed them they exploded just like in the movies :XD:

That's probably actually exactly how the designers/model builders did them as well.

you bought it right
2010-04-21, 6:26 AM #9
Me? Of course not. I'm no longer in the mood to purchase toys for the prices they sell them for. I used to buy lots of Star Wars toys when they started the new line in the mid-nineties but I decided that it was ridiculous to try to keep up when they released the $80 AT-AT. My first name might be Steve but my last name is certainly not Sansweet.

Yeah, $50 for a ****ing toy is ridiculous. I never had LEGOs when I was a boy & I think I just figured out why. My parents probably couldn't afford them.
? :)

Not when the toy is multipurpose. The more LEGO toys you buy, the more you can do with them. You can take them apart and build all sorts of stuff. Eventually you accumulate enough that you can create anything you can think of. They're actually one of the best toys you can buy for kids in my opinion.

And the broker you become! Legos are toys for rich people. What we need are Universal Obama-Lego for all.

I suppose that I didn't think of it that way. I'd probably be pissed w/ my kid though if he took apart the Tie Defender to build some lame hotrod or something.
? :)

I've finally added Wookie to my ignore list.

Because of political rhetoric? No.

Because it's Lego. Not Legos.

Meh, no big loss. I considered using leGos instead to irritate two groups. It's fun to annoy people about the president but it's really fun to annoy lego nerds! And just as easy. One simple letter!

This set's been out for months now. Been thinking about it, but last time I got the ARC-170 instead.

Seriously, we're censoring the application of the normal plural marker of the English language because some corporation tells us to?

Can I get around it with the grocer's apostrophe?

lego's?

i dont want every word censored because wookie abuses it. someone make the censors only effect wookie, that'd be ideal.

Agreed.
Would be nice if they went one step further and censored like every second word wookie says.

That would be cool! The notion of abusing words seems very Obamian as well.

Funny, today my professor was referring to ***** and he said ***** as well. I wouldn't even think twice about it if so many people weren't sheep to the Lego Group.

Obamaian.

Barackian would flow a little more naturally but that implies some form of familiarity that doesn't exist.
