For a quarter million miles, I guess I can't complain. Paint prep and body work starts next weekend, though - she'll look showroom shiny soon enough!

Oh, and for the mechanically inclined among us...I have a TD06 20G with a Tial 38mm external wastegate in the mail. :awesome:

My sister's car has a broken odometer. I estimated that it adds miles as though you were going 600 mph while going 45 mph. It has over one million miles right now.

I was gonna say "just get a new car and stop wasting money on a beater" but then I saw it was a toyota.

No beaters found here! :awesome:

I can't yet afford an Elise, and this is the next best thing. An Elise would trash me in the corners, but I'd give one a run for its money in a straight line right now. With the new turbo setup, no contest.. :P

My Grand Marquis turned 66,666.6 this week. I forgot to get a pic.

My Camaro is coming up on the all elusive 200,000. You better believe I'm getting a pic of that.

I really like JLee's car.

My 84 Nissan-Datsun 200SX killed over at just shy of 300,000 miles. My 93 Mazda Protege is still going strong at about 200,000 miles (that's an estimate because the odometer went out many years ago at 150,000 miles). My new 09 Toyota Yaris is approaching 20,000. I'm about to do a little front-end work on my Mazda so that I can continue to drive it for a bit longer. My father had a 77 Dodge Charger that went to about 1,000,000 miles. He obviously restored it a few times & the floors has rusted out so you could touch the road w/ your feet while driving but it was kinda cool.
? :)

I've never had a car that has a gauge telling you how far you have to go until you run out of fuel but I've always wondered how accurate those things are when you're near empty. Seems like it would really come in handy if it was accurate, but would create a lot of frustration if it was wrong :P

Took this picture in my '00 TA a couple months ago. All those spots are from when I was gone and my wife, God bless her soul, cleaned my car and was not aware of the danger of spraying Armorall cleaner around the dash.

Oh, and my Jeep Grand Cherokee is nearing 200K miles as well.

That's why they also have an old school gas guage too. :P And it bases the estimate off of your recent gas mileage (I think mine goes off of the average of the last 500 miles), so it's tuned a bit to your driving habits. Obviously if you've been driving in the city a lot getting low mileage, and then decide to go on a long road trip, you'll get a lot more miles out of your tank than it says, but as you continue on the trip it'll become more and more accurate.

I can't say for certain just how absolutely accurate it is though, as I don't make it a habit to try and squeeze every last mile out of a tank before filling it up. Plus once it gets below 50 miles left, it beeps at you a lot.

Ah okay, I was just curious because I make a lot of road trips and often there are very few places to fill up. Sometimes I'll hit empty on the gauge and the next town may be 25+ miles away. I've never run out of gas before but I've definitely gotten nervous about the possibility of happening a few times.

I once ran out of gas when the display said I had 12 miles remaining. I had planned to get gas a very near exit. I also once ran for quite awhile with it saying 0 miles remaining. Perhaps the vehicle was converting the Nervous Energy I was emitting to Kinetic Energy.

I once removed and opened up the fuel tank in my Camaro to change a fuel pump, and in the process I accidently bent the float that tells you how much gas is in the tank throwing it off. A few weeks later I ran out of gas in it with the gauge still reading over 1/4 tank. Oops.

Now I just fill up at about 100 - 120 miles no matter what the gauge says.

Considering there's a Ferrari logo on the tachometer and the speedometer goes up to 220...

I'm guessing it's not really his... :P
