I just played through the game for probably the fifth time, and I still can't get over how great the story is. It's just a really well-told story that takes the best of both trilogies and combines it with fun gameplay, despite the flaws. Here's hoping TFU 2 delivers the same recipe of gameplay and really great story telling.

Looks cool, but I hear the port to PC is pretty shoddy.

So long as you have a decent (for 2010 standards) computer you'll be fine.

I agree, the story is indeed great by itself, but it presented some issues in the way in bridged the two star wars trilogies, mainly because they introduced an all powerful new jedi capable of besting the Emperor, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, all men at the top of their art. It would pretty much nullify the 'Chosen One' storyline, if it weren't for the fact that Darth Vader had a hand in the machinations. Its pretty much its saving grace.

As a stand alone star wars story though, it was great and brilliantly told.

Well, I hated the story... or at least mega-loathed it but the gameplay was great and fun enough. [http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/garosaon/smiley/smile.gif]

I loved TFU and I don't care who knows. It was simple and fun.

This was my only gripe when playing it. The fact that there were no options in the game for video settings, control options, ect made it less enjoyable. I wound up figuring out how to edit some of this through the game's files in the directory but lack of customization really hurt. Also, the controls on the star destroyer part were pretty much impossible with a mouse/keyboard combo. It took me about 25 attempts to finally get it.

The idea is that it reimagines the role of the Force in the Star Wars universe... unleashing it. :) I don't have a problem with it.

Taken from Wookiepedia about Starkiller

Quote:
Cloned
Sometime after the events at the first Death Star, Vader went to Kamino to clone Starkiller, hoping for a more obedient version of the Apprentice. However, during experiments on the clone, Galen's memories, including those of his last encounter with Juno, surfaced within the clone, causing him to break free. He traveled to a gladiator arena on Cato Neimoidia, as well as to Dagobah, where Master Yoda was hiding.[20]

Apparently Starkiller will be a clone in this game.

Starkiller being involed with Yoda at all really bothers me. I just don't see this crazy force dude that has the potential to destroy the galaxy ending up around so many canon characters. Leia was already difficult to accept, but they did it well so it worked. I think they had a pretty good story, but I think now it may be stepping over the line in terms of what is believable. (Yes I'm aware that Star Wars is not real, but every story has to live within its own laws, and I feel like TFU is breaking the laws of the SWU - and I am not just referring to his abilities as a force wielder).

Meh, I don't complain too much about things like this but spoiler tags would have been nice.

It's very obvious that the story came second to the gameplay (as it should for any game as far as I'm concerned). They did do a pretty good job of crafting the story considering that, though, even if Starkiller comes off as a bit of a Canon Sue (as others have already implied here).

This was not any easier on the 360 version mostly because the directions the game kept giving you were WRONG. I had to eyeball the Star Destroyer myself and not go by the controller icons that would pop up to finally get it right.

I also found the Wii version to be enjoyable (though I only got to play the tutorial level), though I'm still very miffed that they made the game with Nintendo 64 graphics[/b]. I know the Wii isn't a graphical powerhouse, but it can do Gamecube graphics at least, developers, yeesh.

Gahhhh, why????

I was worried they would do this first time I heard about TFU2.

The whole Star Destroyer scene bothered me. I thought the story was going fine until that point. If you can bring down ships of that size, doing battle with Stormtroopers with ANTI-FORCE BUBBLES seem trivial.

You didn't think the entire combat element of the game was trivial up until that point? I breezed through it. If you're even remotely competent at hack and slash games, TFU is easy as hell on any difficulty. Except for that god damned star destroyer part...

The story had HUGE plot holes witch kind of bother me when I play it. The main character is totally unlikable and flat... everyone in that game is once you think about it.

Not to mention the game makes Vader and the Emperor look like total idiotic wimps. :suicide:

On top of it all the game play is repetitive and some of the levels (felucia) make me feel like I'm in super mario bros.
