I'm pretty sure it was just the bullet, but your point still stands. That was pretty ridiculous.

I know what you mean, but still... everything we see about it says that it's conventional. There are even servo noises when the suit animates, but obviously there's no room for servos anywhere. The material unfolds and wraps around Tony in this ridiculous fashion despite that there's no way to make the parts actually move. But I suppose that one is mostly movie magic.

I actually had no idea until this thread. I saw that scene, got confused, and just assumed that I zoned out and missed some details.

I tend to allow that sort of thing if it's just chalked up to some bizarre technology we've never imagined, instead of trying to explain how outlandish things are done in a totally ridiculous way.

For example: The force is a mystical thing connecting all living things vs. the force is caused by blood parasites.

Yeah..I mean, I like technical details as much as the next guy, but only when they're plausible..or maybe highly advanced and theoretical. When it's stuff that's ALMOST possible and they just make a bunch of stuff up, it pulls me out of it. I'd prefer some vague handwaving in that case, honestly.

Yeah, exactly. The explanation of "it just works" is always better than "it works using this half assed explanation"

Or here's one... where does the ammo for War Machine's gun come from?

No idea. Remember the whole "it just works" thing I just mentioned?

Oh, I read that wrong. I see what you mean.

Forensic and computer sciences are pretty much hollywood's whipping boys. A lot of TV shows and movies are unwatchable if you've ever even read a book about either subject.

which makes me wonder why. is hollywood just stooping? catering to their audience?

or are hollywood writers actually retarded

The optimist in me says writers just like to be creative and interesting, but the cynic in me says they're mentally disabled.

I think they just look for the easy way out. Especially when it comes to subjects that the majority of people are uneducated about. Remember when Michael Bay invented his own type of physics for Armageddon and no one batted an eye?
